The Master Contest

Guys, why don't you guys just take a damn time to think about one thing: Do you think it's really fair the same guy winning two times? Come on, he gets the prize TWICE, that really isn't unfair...

Let me give an example: Let's say h0pesfall, the winner of the Warchief Season of the Modelling Forum Master Contest, could get in again. On the last season, we almost came to a draw between him and Darkblood. Darkblood's was really nice, but h0pesfall's was better, he winned. Now, here comes the Warlord season. Well, yay for Darkblood, he got another chance to win. BUT, we shouldn't forget that h0pesfall is (hypotetically) participating again. We all know that h0pesfall winned the last season, and we also know that he is a renowned modeller here in wc3c. Let's say he wins again. Then, he gets the prize again. Ok Darkblood was (hypotetically) underrated once again. He got second place on rating counts. Is that fair? If h0pesfall didn't participate, Darkblood would have winned. h0pesfall (again i say, hypotetically) winned twice, and darkblood winned none.

Of course, that is only an example. H0pesfall and Darkblood, I just used your names for instance.

Actually, I've thought about it alot, it's all I can think...er no... but seriously TheLord has a point and sansui also has a point. I think alot of people just enter the contest for fun because they like to do it. Although, some people may just want the prizes or think it completely unfair for someone to get a prize more than once. However, this would be an incentive for them to get better at whatever that skill is so when the next contest comes around (which it will) they will be able to enter an even better entry and possibly win it. Competition to become the best by competing against the best is a driving force in many countries (the United States for one...)

That's stupid. Don't let Brazil in the world cup, so someone else can win? Don't let the Americans have guns, so someone else can bully the world? Don't let Microsoft build software, so someone else can monopolise the market?

nobudy should have the right to carry a gun. not even the silly americans... have u seen bowling for columbine? its a ducumantary about why americans are so violent. if u havnt seen it, run to the video shop and rent the dvd... it is a REALLY good doc.

Anyways, there is an art contest I've entered every year for the past 6 years. It is run by the Metro subway system and people from around the area compete in making a poster that illustrates the current slogan. I have won either 1st, 2nd, or 3rd every year I have entered. Does this mean that I should not be able to enter? No, it doesn't.




And, The Lord, its won, not winned... just trying to help you out.

Just u shouldnt get first everytime if there is another thats Just as good as yours . U should get some kind of penalty so people that arnt as good have a chance otherwise it will be the same people everytime with no new people untill another really good artist comes and kicks the Crap out of all of the competitors then it will be just him/her.

Okay I think there is one thing to be said..

The Lord started this contest, it's his choice what the rules are; if you don't agree, bad luck for you. Whining doesn't help anyone so just back off; it's sad if you argue over the net about a contest rule that you don't agree with. What do you gain? Nothing, so keep the whining for yourself.
This is just organized to have some fun. Thank you, The Lord, for taking the initiative to start this contest.

Well, what kind of "contest" will it be if the lord himself ends up doing the skin? And yes, that is exactly it, the same people will win, until others get good enough to put up the compitition. Should Blizzard not be allowed to win game of the year every year they release a game, just because they won last time they released one? You think Blizzard would still try so hard to make a great game if they didn't get recognized for it? Possibly, but very unlikely. Bah, I am so tired of people saying "oh, give him a chance, it will make em think more of themselves" Bah, where would the world be if we did that? No electricity, no planes, no cars, we would still be in the dark ages. Bah, bah bah bah bah, thats all I can say anymore, grow up people, you win and lose in life, nature doesn't give people a break.

Dre, there is a REALLY big difference between whining and having a mature discussion. Hell, no one is even whining even a little bit. If you hadn't noticed, just about everyone withdrew from the contest so they would have a chance to skin one of the other models in the contest. Then, The Lord said that they shouldn't do that because there is a prize.... and so on... besides, this ended 2 days ago so it really doesn't matter.

Ok guys, I'll give you one day to decide if you want to withdraw or not.

And just to awarn you guys again: the prize is NOT only the points prize... Actually the prize in points is the lesser one of them all.

OK folks we can skin it now i made a mdx that can be viewed in the viewer but it strips any animations and i rewrapped the tree. :)

Took awile but hey now i can skin it.

personally i think Phe_S should redo the anims for this, i mean its a good model and its been reasonably well wrapped, but Phe_S isnt the worlds best animator (no offence intended) and he has improved a bit, right now it looks unnatural and wierd, also the main scale should be upped so its a decent size and still ahve the particle effect on the hand look good.

Bah, your not paying attention, no one cares what the prize is, its not about the prize. Anyone who wants to agree with me here speak up. You can stick my skin on there if you want, lemme know and I'll give you the blp (Hell, make it a package with all the skins for all I care), but I will not keep myself from the other compititions, sorry.

I don't really care if you participate or not, just stop this discussion yourself started. It won't make any difference and it's starting to be upsetting.
