Ok, found that other problem and fixed it. New version at the same link :) |

*downloading* I hope all fields are editable now so that you can actually use this with other/no armor and strength bonuses! Edit: Still missing... |

can't be missing, compared the the AbilityMetaData.slk with the original 1.15 one and it's the same. EDIT: I realized that I posted the latest update, some minutes before the upload was finished, so maybe you downloaded the old version. Try redownloading it, I checked in the object editor and everything was there for me. @ ALL: I recommend everyone to get the new version at the above link, because otherwise the ability editor can be completely messed up. |

Just tried your new editor, and I really like the power it adds. However, there is 1 problem I'm trying to solve. Range, and Attack Rate increase/decrease triggers depend on upgrades as opposed to abilities so they benefit all units of the unit-type that uses it. Since I only want 1 unit to receive the bonuses I tried to solve the problem by giving the upgrade bonus to a computer player that doesn't use units of this type, then when I need my unit to receive the upgrade it is replaced with the unit from that other player and then the ownership is changed to me. That should work in theory, however the upgrades in the upgrade set are set to not transfer with ownership, so once the unit changes owner these values are reset. I tried editing it to transfer with ownership, but after running optimizations (which I have to run to make the upgrading work in wc3) it seems to set it back to not transfering with ownership. Could you please address the issue? Thank you. |

Nevermind, this solution will not work for me. I found the UpgradeData.slk and modified it to transfer upgrades with ownership, but it does so by setting the player's upgrade level to whom the unit is transfered, therefore still affecting all units. And I can see that there is no way around this because that is hardcoded into the game. |

R3N3G4D3: Yes, these upgrades will take effect for all units of the same type and with the same owner. There are some hints in the weu documentation (a complete tutorial dealing with stat changing) that might help you. hitman_forever: You can do that yourself. Simply change the item's charges to its current nr of charges + whatever XIID.GT4: you should really check your local folders for other AbilityMetaData.slk files because now I'm 100% sure that the WEU slk is equal to the original 115 slk. Also nobody else complained about similar problems. |

I'm completely sure that I don't have any files in my Warcraft III folder since I had to reinstall it because of some errors with old editors and I deleted the folder and installed completely new! Now I don't do anything but replays and downloaded maps there! I just need to see the strength and armor data field which in the normal editor is invisible! |
| 06-16-2004, 01:22 PM | #115 |
So if they are not in the normal editor, the fields don't exist, right? And if they don't exist ... how could they be in WE Unlimited? |
| 06-16-2004, 04:04 PM | #116 |
I asked you to add those damn fields, didn't I? I didn't say that it depends to the WE Unlimited, I asked if you could enable them in WE Unlimited! Atm this ability is totally useless because when you can't change the armor and strength given you can't use this for anything! |

Oh, finally everything's clear. I always thought you were complaining because fields were missing that had been there in the normal editor. Now that I finally understood what you want ... I'll look into it for future versions, maybe I can do something about it. |

I know it must be possible, I can think about VERY old editors in ROC which had additional fields like for example bounces so this should be no problem... |

I know those, but they cheated by taking the entries from the FrozenThrone alpha and beta. Also it would be pointless anyway as it would require the MetaData.slk imported which will not always be loaded at map init and therefore not always work. |

Does the new version fix the save/load hero stuff? |
