I didn't include anything Starcraft-related save for the PR listfiles (I merged them accidentally with the standard WC3 ones). What you are reffering to is the old version of UMSWE where I wasn't involved yet. If you know something about old MPQ Tools, you might also know, why it needed StarEdit. In the old times (before sfmpq.dll), the community (ab)used the SC Editor to write MPQs. MPQ2k needed it for example. But forget about it and get the newest release of UMSWE. |

Guest | Since this is the most reliable forum, Does it matter (for SLK editing) if I use a similar kind of program for spreadsheet but not Microsoft Excel, Wut i am saying is that i dont hav Excel but i hav Microsoft spreadsheet. |

1) I don't know if that works. I suggest to use SLKPad if you don't have Excel. You can get it in the Download Forum. 2) This is the UMSWE thread. You may not talk about anything else save for UMSWE here. Do you understand that? |

Since we've got the point system in the forums you can't change your avatar so easily any more. You need like 500 points or so to do so. |

DOODAD Limits... I searched the FAQ's and the message boards... but found no answer to this question.... DOES UMSWE remove the limit on Doodads? I am making maps for my Home Network and the limit on doodads keeps me from making the enormous maps creative/neat |

You have to check "Remove World Editor Limits" in War3Config to remove the limits. Alternatively you can use WE-No-Limits. |

Ok, well either I am doing something wrong or like I noticed on a few other items. It only works on NEW maps? |

It says in the readme that you can change blizzard shards and other stuff with some new effects editor or something. I looked around for anything like it but i cant see it can someone tell me how i can do this stuff? |
| 11-28-2003, 07:40 PM | #130 |
Blizzard shards are a buff, not an effect. The effects can be found in the Object Editor, tab Abilities. Buff editing might be in the next version of UMSWE. The problems with buff editings are that you need to import AbilityData.slk in order to make the edited buffs work (without that file the map crashes when you cast a spell with a modified buff). As UMSWE tries to ensure 100% Battle.net compatibility (well, the light sources also need importing), I can't say if I will really put it in. Currently I would say yes. Please don't ask for a release date of future versions. The next one will not be released before the 1.13 patch is out. Afterwards there might be a 1.13 compatibility fix and some time later a new version with some new features. |

Ummm... When I start up my map all the doodads revert to their original size, do i have to import the doodad slk into my map? If so what is its directory? Forgive me if someone has asked about this, or its somewhere else... |
| 12-05-2003, 07:02 PM | #132 |
You have to import the file Doodads.slk, which can be found in the UMSWE Files directory (it's inside large doodads). Make sure you use the right path: Doodads\Doodads.slk I thought this was in the readme, but obviously it wasn't. In the next version there will be a little FAQ included (although the documentation was quite good). |

With 4.0 whenever I go to Player Properties, it always crashes, saying it needs to close! I haven't tried the other module things though...I use TFT. |
| 01-02-2004, 07:03 PM | #134 |
That problem is new to me. |
| 01-03-2004, 02:19 AM | #135 |
Yes, it does that whenever i have No-Limits checked. Also, I think this might have to do with TFT, but whenever I open up the trigger module in any editor it just shows the trigger name, not the actions, events, and such. Woops! I found out its just minimized (the triggers) but my No-Limits-Player-Properties problem is still bugging me. I dearly don't want to switch to another editor, but this problem is major. A guy needs to change the player properties! Ok, one thing on the side about the 4.1 beta...whenever I try to save almost always an error pops up saying such and such... |
