I'm more a hidden person over here; doesn't feel as open as ToB, but its still a good place. Also wondering if I could get a link to your concept art, as frankly, I am still lost in these forums. Edit: lol, looking at your links and found it, so never mind. Very nice art indeed. Be interesting to model, but if I do good with it, I could use it for school, so its a 3 win situation! |

I would model the dwarf this weekend, but I would need someone else to get it into mdx and unwrap it. :\ |

Name: Lunais Race: Night Elf Gender: Female Class: Druidess of the Fang (Hero) Statistics: Primary Statistic: Agility Starting Statistics: 16 STR, 22 AGI, 19 INT Strength Per Level: 1.90 Agility Per Level: 1.75 Intelligence Per Level: 2.25 Attack Rate: 1.70 Attack Range: 100 HP Regeneration Rate: .50 (only at night) Movement Speed Base: 320 Description: This sacred sect of Druidesses has adopted the totem of the elegant Feline, allowing them to tranform into great Silverback cats to prowl the forests and fields of their homelands. In defense of Kalimdor, these women have learned to hunt and kill amongst the fierce prides of Silverbacks, and may call upon the Night Elf goddess Elune for her blessing. History: In response to the savage struggle that has gripped the inhabitants of Kalimdor since the return of the Scourge and rise of Arthas, a band of young, untrained Night Elven men and women was gathered to approach the great Silverback cats during the time of Illidan's pursuit. It was in the hope that an alliance could be reached with these grand feline prides that this small party was sent forth to the distant n'Myrial Plains where Elune's light frosts the pale grasses in daylight and darkness. Unable to spare many able hands, the group was sent out from the forests with but a small escort of Huntresses and Druids. The journey was arduous; by the time they reached their destination, the escort was more than cut in half, and but a few young men and one woman remained. The band was met by a feline scout, glimmering like quicksilver on the plains, and was brought to the pride with frigid courtesy. Throughout the talks, it became evident that the felines were uninterested in performing as mounts for their skilled Huntresses, and even less willing to assisting the male Druid sects in their nature magic rituals. Discouraged, the party was forced to move camp to the borders of the pride's territory, where they prepared themselves for the perilous journey home. That very night, the last woman, Lunais, was approached on the banks of a gleaming brook by a Silverback. It was long and lean and nimble, and far swifter than its Frostsaber cousins. Not daring to speak, Lunais watched the feline approach, her hands still at her sides, her feet trailing in the frigid waters. The cat sat at her side in companionable silence for a time, before at last it deigned to speak. Silverbacks, she was informed, were no simple brutes to be sat upon as mounts, and they thoroughly distrusted male wiles. What the pride offered the woman, there on the bank of that night time river, was a magical alliance with the Night Elves, much as that shared by the Druids and their totem beasts, with but one condition – that only the females share the bond between Elf and Silverback, to use the pride's strength and magic to defend their lands. A solemn oath then passed the lips of the young Elf, and a sacred pact was created. Thus did Lunais become the founder of a new and extraordinary sect of Druids – the Druidesses of the Fang. Abilities: 1.) Silverback Form - Transforms the Druidess into a giant Silverback cat, increasing movement and attack rate, and giving a small chance to critically strike. She may also Shadowmeld in the daylight while transformed. However, the Druidess is unable to cast spells while in this form, and is particularly susceptible to spell damage. (1 level) - +10% movement speed, 10% attack rate, 15% chance to do 2x damage. - Takes 150% spell damage. - Gains ability to Shadowmeld during the day. - 75 mana, 10 second cooldown. 2.) Hamstring - Using fang and claw, the Druidess slashes the tendons in the legs of her foes, reducing their movement speed and causing extreme blood loss. This ability may only be used while in Silverback form. (2 levels) - Melee range snare and damage over time. - Level 1: 10% movement speed decrease, 5% health lost per second, 5 second duration. - Level 2: 15% movement speed decrease, 8% health lost per second, 6 second duration. - 90 mana, 10 second cooldown. 3.) Elune's Grace - Calling upon the Goddess of the Night Elves, the Druidess causes allied units nearby to regenerate at an increased rate, while substantially slowing their movement speed. She is unable to move while channeling this spell. (3 levels) - Small to medium radius area effect channeling regeneration, centered around the caster. - Level 1: 10 HP regenerated per second, 30% movement speed decrease, 20 second duration. - Level 2: 20 HP regenerated per second, 25% movement speed decrease, 25 second duration. - Level 3: 30 HP regenerated per second, 20% movement speed decrease, 30 second duration. - 120 mana, 35 second cooldown. 4.) Tempest - The Druidess fills her hands with potent magical force and rends a distant enemy with claws of air. (3 levels) - Long range instant direct damage spell. - Level 1: 80 damage. - Level 2: 115 damage. - Level 3: 150 damage. - 100 mana, 8 second cooldown. 5.) Hunter's Gaze (Ultimate) - As the stalker paralyzes its prey with a glance, the Druidess draws upon her animal instincts and frightens nearby enemies into stillness each time her predator's gaze sweeps over them. - Pulsing, area effect channeling stun. - 3 second duration stun every 8 seconds (5 seconds of free movement between stuns). - 35 second duration (4 stuns maximum). - 150 mana, 180 second cooldown. The Elf: The Druidesses of the Fang are smaller than their Druid counterparts, and lithe and willowy of form. Their hair, silver as the fur of their totem creatures, is invariably long and unbound. ![]() Full size picture: http://www.u.arizona.edu/~hramsdel/fangelf5.jpg Uncoloured sketch: http://www.u.arizona.edu/~hramsdel/fangelf.jpg Front and back shots: ![]() The Silverback: Silverbacks are great, long-limbed beasts, rivalling the fierce Frostsaber tigers of Winterspring in length, but more slender and lightly built. These felines are clearly meant for swift and decisive attacks, lacking the brute force of their fellows. Their fur is sleek and shining silver, with a slight mane drifting along their spine from head to tail. Their points (paws, muzzle, ears, and tail) are a deep, cold grey, and they most often have piercing green eyes. ![]() Uncoloured sketch: http://www.u.arizona.edu/~hramsdel/silverback1.jpg |

Just so this is clear before I start anything, we are expected to model but The Druidess and the Silverback, right? And are we expected to create the abilities, or are they just to give us an idea of what the functionality of the model will be? I think thats all my questions, and now im off to attempt to model a human like object. |

I would like a cat, since we're supposed to create fully-functional units to be added to WC3, but it's up to the Lord - it might be too much trouble. Then again, the chariot was pretty crazy, too. I just posted all of her info. The abilities will probably need animations, but again I think animations might be optional. While we're waiting for the Lord's answer, I would just use them so you can get a feel for what the unit is like, I guess. =) |

Okay, that answers all my questions. Also, based on the Druid of Claw and Druid of Talon, you add the morphed model in with the Night Elf model, so I am thinking the cat should be modeled as well, because otherwise therre might be some animation issues later on. Seeing as the last season was a good 2-3 months, I am sure there is more than enough time to model the cat if this season continues as long. Well i'm off to model again, because I have only finished a rough head (its harder then it looks I tells ya!) |

take a screenshot or a render of it and then reply to this thread in the reply window scroll down to the button that reads "manage attachments" click it and a window will pop up, where you can attach stuff to your post. To attach the model itself, you'll have to zip it up first. |

Just checking in - anyone working on a model at the moment or is the contest pretty much dead? =) |
