Damaging with Acid Bomb

I know Acid Bomb does damage. But what would I set the stats to in order to make it deal instant damage, one time, as soon as it hits the target? (Like storm bolt without the stun) Is this possible?

Just use storm bolt and set the duration to 0.01, so it looks like instant.

Except that stuns, and will interrupt channeling and movement, which isn't something I want, since the spell I'm making shoots these missiles periodically and would end up stunning the units almost indefinitely.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't it have an 'initial damage' section?

Alternatively, you could use death coil (which only works vs. living units), SS (which has those numbers), or you could trigger the damage using a timer (which would be slightly inaccurate).

Griff: Yes it does, but I don't know if that's instant. I think that's only if the damage has a duration. I can't use Death Coil since there's both living and undead enemies. I don't know what SS is (if it wasn't abbreviated I'd probably know), and I don't think timers would work, since it's in missile form and the units could be at different distances from the caster, and moving.

Dusk: Oh, Chain lightning... It has a missile too. That could work, I'll try that.

If you reaaaally need the missile, I think CL's is buggy and acid bomb is the way to go. Seriously though, if you can't figure it out, play with the numbers for five seconds and it'll make more sense than any of us can explain.

I do remember CL's missile not working right. I'll use Acid Bomb and just assemble some tests to see how the damage works. Thanks for the feedback.

EDIT: A quick test shows me that on Acid Bomb, with the Primary Damage set to 100, the damage interval set to 1, and the duration set to 1, units take 100 damage. So acid bomb will work perfect for what I want.

Make bomb duration 0.01 damage interval 0.01 and damage you need.

except 1 second is more likely to work, as acid bomb deals damage per second

.01 wont cut it as far as I know

Leave the Damage Interval at 1.00 but change the Duration to 0.01 unless you want the buff to stay on the target for 1 second.

Also the reason that there is Primary and Secondary Damage is because Acid Bomb is an AoE spell - Primary Damage being done to the target and Secondary damage to the units in the Area of Effect around the target. So you might also want to set the Area of Effect to 0
