Taur
Be warned the contents of this RP are subject to change at anytime :P lol, this is kind of to give you a feel about what the RP will be about. I know I mention the Dalaran vs. Blue Dragon Flight battle a lot, but that will not figure too strongly early in the RP I believe. If you have any suggestions please post.

Back to the North

The Snowhoove tribe, a once proud and powerful tribe of tauren that lived not in the heat of the barrens, but the cold chill of Northrend.

Strict tradition and snow were staples of the Snowhoove life. Soon, they expanded into a self-sufficient tribe, happy and ignorant of the world around them. But the world was not ignorant of them. One day, cries of bloodlust that had not echoed in their tribe for years were heard, and the sky was blocked out by spears. The invading host, bristling with tusks, spears and the fury of the ice trolls, quickly rolled through the unpracticed Snowhoove warriors, the village was in shambles, many were killed, the others fled like animals, unaware of others besides themselves. The Snowhoove tribe was shattered, perhaps destroyed... but not forgotten, never forgotten.

For they lived in a most unlikely place, deep in the heart of the barrens was a Snowhoove, who carried their memory deep within her heart. Her name was Thanka Lightrune, a former Snowhoove who had been chased from her village because she would not marry one whom she did not love. Yet while running from her unwanted bride, she meet true love in the form of a barrens tauren called Kam. Together, after many adventures, they formed a new tribe, that of the Lightrune tribe, based on the teachings of the ancestral light (for more info see below) and like the Snowhooves, they quickly expanded, but they did not forget that they lived in a world that was larger than their village. The Lightrune tribe grew mighty, consisiting not only of Tauren, but Humans, Night Elves, Orcs even Undead and Trolls. Acceptance, friendship, truth, honour, that was the code they lived by...

... and Thanka could hardly believe it, she had found her place in the world alongside the one person she loved the most. Life was perfect, and she didnt want it to change.

But change was a force that could not be tamed like the light of the ancestors, it came quickly and without warning. In this case, it came in the form of her past. Thatha, her sister and Bumma, the chieftain of the Snowhoove tribe, and her former suitor, arrived, desperate and asking for help. For a time it seemed as though the past would spoil the future of the Lightrunes, but eventually all became as it was before. Thatha too found love in the barrens in the form of an orc called Malthar.

Except, the past could not be ignored. Bumma and his wife, eager to restart their tribe, left for the North with a small entourage of Lightrune members... months passed and they were not heard of again.

Rumors formed, had some dark force over taken the Snowhooves? Why exactly had the trolls attacked them in the first place? Was there any of the Snowhoove tribe left to be salvaged?

The two Snowhoove sisters could hardly stand it. Thatha and her husband (character control here, is that what happened?) Malthar agreed to leave for the frozen wasteland of Northrend in search of the Snowhooves. But this time, they were not to be unprepared. A strong host of great Lightrune warriors would accompany them, a direct portal would be opened to Northrend to speed their voyage and they would find out the truth... even if it killed them.

The search and rescue party will arrive at a monumentous time in Northrend. All races understand that soon the Lich King will have enough power to wipe them off the map completely, and there is a marked decrease in violence between them. However, Malygos has declared a war on all mortal magic users, especially the Kirin Tor of Dalaran. Dalaran itself is being relocated to Northrend to dissuade the Blue Dragon Flight from battle. The Blue Dragon Flight seems as though it will stop at nothing to destroy magic users, and manipulation and destruction of the other northrend races seems quite possible. Dalaran itself has begun gathering it's powers for the inevitable fight, including some red dragons, answering the pledge they made to Rhonin in the Day of the Dragon, when he aided their entire flight. The scourge, though pressed on other fronts, looks to take advantage of this to further tighten their grip on Northrend.

Background Story:

The Lightrune Tribe - Now consisting of around 300 members, they are a medium sized village, with quaint living standards. They have no official affiliation, but with the alliance attacks in the past, it seems likely that they would side with the Horde if called upon. Hard work is the main theme of the village, and everyone is expected to do it. Students are educated in all forms, from fighting to magic from an early age and then are allowed to choose their discipline. The Lightrune tribe is generally more welcoming and open at the most, and finds itself constantly sought out by beings of all races looking for a reason to live.

The Ancestral Light - A force discovered by Kam, it harnesses the energy of the dead ancestors to allow the wielder many powers. It can summon holy fire, augment the wielder's strength, send out beams of light and heal the wounded, all depending on the type of caster using it.

Vindicators - The equivalent of Paladin, they wield the Ancestral light and a heavy staff as their weapons. Their staffs are heavily inscribed with markings to boost their power and in battle the markings glow. Different vindicators have adapted different fighting styles, some preferring brute force while others make battle a beauty with their hypnotizing staff forms, this makes a vindicator battalion difficult to deal with because they cannot be sterotyped as one strength. A vindicator usually uses holy fire and augmenting buffs, but they know a limited amount of healing.

Healers - Similar to human priests, they use their ancestral powers to heal the wounded.

Runemasters - A new class developing in the Lightrune tribe, their entire body is covered with runes, the same way the Vindicator's staffs are. During battle these runes constantly glow as their power is being used by the caster. Runemasters use pure light as their weapon, shaping it for their own needs, either as a strong attack, or as a shield. Runemasters attacks are many, varied and hard to predict.

Northrend Factions:

The Snowhoove tribe - A tribe of tauren living in Northrend, they were decimated by the Ice Trolls for an unknown reason. Now their ruined village is the only testament to their existence, the whereabouts and existence of other Snowhooves besides Thanka and Thatha are unknown.

Darkkari - A tribe of Ice Trolls that had lived with the Snowhoove tribe in peace for many years, they are generally seen as a shamanistic people and it is a mystery why they would attack the Snowhooves. Though most Ice Trolls live in Zul Drak, the tribe that attacked the Snow Hooves was an off-shoot of the main tribe, that lives in the Borean Tundra.

The Scourge - Obviously, the base of the Lich King is in Northrend itself and there are few places in Northrend that are not somehow touched by the plague. A Scourge encampment is rumoured to be nearby the Troll and Snowhoove areas, though they have no made any breaks into them.

The Blue Dragons - Once a happy and carefree race, the Blue Flight and it's leader Malygos was transformed into a vindictive group when Deathwing the Destroyer, nearly wiped them out. It seemed as though the sanity of the Blue Flight was recovering as their numbers did, but in a new bout of madness, Malygos has ordered a genocide of all magic users on Azeroth, on the basis that he was the protector of Magic as ordained by the Titans and the source of all evils and war on Azeroth appeared to be magic. His war is especially aimed at Dalaran.

Thaunka - An earlier version of the tauren. Whereas the Snowhoove tribe migrated relatively recently and had only time for their fur colour to adapt, the Thaunka seem to have seperated from their tauren ancestors much longer, thousands and thousands of years ago. Evolution has certainly taken a different path with them, they are more basic tauren but still instilled with their sense of honour and pride. They do not have the same shamanistic magics that Tauren do. Their relationship is similar to that of the Darkspear tribe and the Jungle trolls, the former views the latter as barbaric and below them, while the latter view the former as stuck-up and snotty. They resemble Bisons more than bulls, picture here. The Thaunka reisde not too far away from the ruined Snowhoove village and are a possible shelter for our adventurers.: http://images.wikia.com/wowwiki/imag...nkacolored.jpg

Dalaran - Dalaran itself is being moved to Northrend, near the Blight, to watch over the Blue Dragon Flight. The Kirin Tor are readying for a battle against the Blue Flight and are calling upon all their possible allies. They do not expect to actually have to kill the Blue Flight but rather make Malygos reconsider his desicion. I would be careful in selecting Dalaran as your faction, because I cannot forsee a great deal of interaction with them early on, though there might be a way to squeeze it in. We'll have to see.

I'll draw on it a bit later, the Snowhooves are mostly in the Tundra, as well as the Thaunka, and Ice Trolls though.
