WT 79 - Island

04-22-2008, 02:07 AM#1
[Death]
The airship creaked, wood buckling and groaning, still managing to stay together as we approached the island in the sky. The island was floating in the air, completely untethered to the land below, hinged in the air by invisible wires. Clouds flowed around it like water, constantly disappearing, constantly reforming. Even in these high altitudes, grass and trees still grew on the island, surrounding the wood houses and fences and roads. Farther on in was a jungle choked with trees where not even the sun penetrated so close to the sky. I lowered the binoculars; the constant bumping of the airship kept pushing the metal into my eyes. The airship let out another squeal and began its slow descent down to the ground, or what I would be calling ground for the next few hours.

Nothing inspires like CGTalk. You can treat this week as "Islands in the Sky redux", but this is mainly islands in general.

A tip would be to have difference scales on the trees. And it looks like they all have the same angle. Except that it looks great.

Haha, the 36 hour(?) downtime didn't help either.

Anti, I like the look of your second pic from the thumbnail, but I see it is flooded with trees with a cathdredral at the bottom. </3

I do like the sky in the first and third pics though :D
