Aura Model Importing

Alright, so I downloaded a model from wc3sear or now known as the hive and I can't seem to get it to work or find a tutorial that does aura models. When I downloaded it, it only came with the mdx file.

I imported it to War3 and changed the path to "modelname.mdx" rather than "war3imported\modelname.mdx" but it still doesn't work.

A model is a model: any tutorial for importing will suffice, and if it comes only with an MDX, it should work without any jiggery-pokery at all.

Dare I say, 'save your map and restart WE'?

Did all that but I just went in and double checked the model used and even though it said it was using the model the "() Import" option wasn't selected :P

Works now..

and on a side note, you only have to save for models, skins and icons to work..not restart

Depends, actually. If you view the model without saving, you'll have to save/restart, but if you save the map before ever viewing the model in any way, shape, or form, it will automatically update. It seems the WE updates per path only the first time a model/texture/icon/whatever is viewed, then it just recalls the first-seen one later on.

ur right dusk, because if you delete a model from your map and save, it will still be there... its dumb.

Actually it just shows the models path if I'm not mistaken.. the model itself and its animations are deleted..

Nope, it'll still be there assuming you viewed it once before deleting it. It won't be 'gone' until the next time you load the WE. If you didn't view it before deleting it and saving, it'll be properly gone when you check next. The WE is an interesting mistress. :p

Of course I meant save and change model/texture settings, but that's a bit of a mouthful when you're trying to be snappy.
