Hello, I decided to learn all about map-making, and started by looking at how was the official campaign made, after having read some good guides obviously :) ! So I began by playing then editing the first map of the Introduction ("In search of a vision" or something like that [French version here]), and some questions arose regarding the triggers. The first phase is the initialization phase, which inits timing, players, units, environment, visibility and sound. The timing trigger sets the QuestDelay to a maxmimum of 6.00. But what does this value corresponds to? Hours, days, weeks? The WE doesn't say much about it... The players trigger turns rewards for neutral hostile (good word?) off. Why is that needed? The environment trigger plays the death animation for lightning doodads. Why is that needed whereas those aren't visible to the player? Also it sets variables (CirclesXX) for circles of power, but using the function "Random Units from" rather than directly naming the circle units. Why? That's all for now and many thanks for those who will answer ! P.S.: it's a bit out of topic, but can I change the game language without unistalling & reinstalling it? |
