Weird Spirit Link Glitch

I cast spirit link on 4 units, 1 hero unit, the other 3 dummy units to spread the damage. After casting it, I allow the hero unit to get hit by a monster that deals 101-101 damage. For some odd reason, the hero takes 1100 damage, and the 3 dummy units take 22 each.

I substitute the hero for a dummy unit, and the dummy unit took 77, the other 2 dummy units and hero took 22. ....WTF is going on?

I only need to get this to work because it was the best solution I could think of for reducing damage by a percentage. I don't know JASS. If nobody can find a solution to this, I'd like to know another simple way to reduce damage dealt to a unit by a percentage. The reduced damage percentage must apply for all, or just melee and ranged, I can work with both.

I think either Defend or Magic Defense can do that.

That Night Elf spell (Elune's Grace?) is also good for damage reduction, though I think it has more conditions for use than the ones darkwulfv stated.

Elune works great for magic and ranged, but I really need melee damage.

Defend, Magic Defense, Hardened Skin, Spiked Carapace, and Elune's Grace are the ones I can think of that modify incoming damage.

Harden Skin and Spiked Carapace isn't percent, and I'm using Elune for ranged and magic. I need a melee now, which I don't think exists....

You can set spiked carapace so that the damage taken factor is lower, I believe?

Did you check Defend/Magic Defense? I'm almost positive one of those does that.

Ah yes, Spiked Carapace CAN change the damage received =D. +REPPED.
