Rise of Nations http://www.gamerz-forum.com/forum/rise-nations/ Summary Rise of Nations is an enhanced melee game. The game is based off of Genesis of Empires from a long time ago, in which you would have to place a town forum, and make your city along roads to increase residential growth. This game is the same, but with many more features, the cool thing is, we did not steal one thing except for the idea, but we wanted to keep the same feel, so the game is going to seem the same, but just have a little more to offer, and more help on getting started. Features Resources - There are a few important resources in the game that you would have to control and keep balanced, or at least somewhat handlable, to keep your nation prospering. There is Oil, Food, and Electricity. Oil and Electricity are not needed later on ingame until your empire can handle them. But they can be gained through placing Industrial Zones through the map, and connecting them with your city. Production of Oil and Electricity has effects so huge on your cities growth, that you must build very far away. The advantage with this, is that the industrial growth of your city, can affect other undeveloped nation's production. Giving you an advantage. Food, is gained by placing Agricultural Zones beside your city, which provide food. Food is needed to keep your civilians alive, and you are able to grow food to provide for your nation. Civilians, are gained by placing Residential Zones on the map, they must be connected to roads, and must be placed as close to Job Markets, Banks, and Markets as possible to increase their growth. You can choose how many civilians live in one place, if low, then they are happy, but you have less civilians. If you choose a high density of civilians, then you get a lot of civilians (more taxes :D), but they are less happy. You can also choose a strategy to build based on what you place on the map. Military units are trained in an Academy, or wherever they are generally meant to be at. When you train a unit, you dont get one unit. You get a squad of units, squad size can vary depending on what you are trying to train, like Light Infantry will come in squads of 6, but they will be weaker than most other units. You can also train an air offense in Rise of Nations, but their fuel usage will be intense, and you would have to use them right away. If fuel runs low, then air units most likely will drain it and all fly out of the sky. We are working hard to make sure Military is balanced, really fun, but also hard to manage in parts where it must be hard to be managed (e.g. air, ships, mechanicals). More information coming soon, yes we are looking for testers, and there is no release date yet. Screenshots coming soon. Sounds a bit too complex, but could be fun. I didn't enjoy the real Rise of Nations game, or its expansion. |

It will be easier than you think, I'm making tooltips very informative quickly and also making the game easier than it really sounds. |

A question about infantry spawning as squads: will you control them as squads or as individual units? |
