A Kingdom of Apocalypse
AKoA is an AoS map.. In Outland. It has a maximum of 10 players. In AKoA, it isn't just two teams, no, it's actually 6 teams, where only two of these teams can be with user players. The main objective, like in all other AoS maps, is to destroy the enemy's headquarter, though, in this map, there are smaller "objectives"; you can destroy the small villages, though the spawners are invulnerable. Why? To keep the game as exciting as possible. The teams is like the following: Human, Undead, Draenei, Fel Orc, Naga and Blood Elf. The spells are mostly nuking spells, since I'm trying to make the map so chaos'ish as possible, though without too much lag. In the start, it may seem pretty hard, but it's intended; later on, the creeps gets easier. I tried to make the heroes as balanced as I could, and you may think "yeah, yeah, the heroes' stats are completely the same" and my answer is: Yes. The map is based on tactic, if you think a little about the spells when you use them, you figure out, that most of them are avoidable, and can give you an adventage, even if it your opponent uses them. You see, as I said, AKoA is based on nuking spells. These spells damages their teammates too, so if you do a jump, and your opponent just have unleashed his/her deadly ultimate, you can make the opponents teammates (the creeps) target you, and make them walk straigth into nothing but death. Also, in AKoA it's important to have a tactic. Therefore, I am developing Intro Cinematics, short cinematics that should help you create a tactic, if you like the hero. Right now, I have only created two of those, they can be found here; Intro to Elementalist, Intro to Pyromancer. In AKoA, items isn't that important, but they can still give a minor adventage; hired creeps though, can give a major adventage, such as the Warcheif; No attack damage, but equippied with the skill "Radioactive Aura", which slowly kills the enemy, and drains 5 mana per second. The cost is 800, and it got 800 life, so it is about protecting that one. Right now, there aren't so much custom abilities for the creeps, but they'll come, in later versions. The heroes though, is builded up with a Attribute Bonus ability, initial ability, 3 normal skills and 1 ultimate (ofcourse ). Normaly, this combination, if used correctly, can be used to overwhelm your opponent. When the game ends, there will roll a dice, and if your lucky, your into SUDDEN DEATH. Quote:
Got it? Great! In this version, I forgot to credit "OgeRfaCes" from THW, so I'll just credit him here. He is added in the new version, though. Download the current version here: Epicwar Download (Current version: 0.35) And sorry about the invert screenshots, free image converter, and I don't got no image creating program, so I can't make a preview image for the map, so I'll hope that someone would like to do it, well, I hope you enjoy it :) |

If an AoS with heroes that require an intro in order for the players to understand them, then it's badly designed. They should be made as intuitive as possible for the new players, the AoS is based on nukes, I think everyone knows when to use a nuke so requiring an intro sounds like a super complicated nuke more complicated than any AoM skill. And it's bad hero design to give a hero more than 1 nuke. I will try to test and give back my thoughts on it. |

Please attach it to the post, I tried downloading and trying the one on Epicwar but I kept getting the "Map file cannot be found" whenever I tried to host it. I think either the upload is broken or the map is broken or the download is broken, something like that. |

why on earth are your pics backwards and why in the hell did you provide a pic of my assistance system giving you constant errors, after not reporting said errors? this is disheartening |

Just a question. Will we have to play the entire game with our screens like that? |

Oh, crap, sorry about that guys. I just found out, that the Map Optimizer made the last version unplayable, so that you have to play the older version, sorry again. Sunwarrior25 > If you had read the thread, you would have noticed this: Quote:
Rising_Dusk > I will. Dragon.Head > It was actually for helping people, and ofcourse there's more than nukes in the game. Location targets, unit targets and passives are in it too. emjlr3 > Quote:

I tried it... But let me say that I have to choose my words extremely carefully, I don't want to be too mean. |

Well, it didn't crash, that's about the biggest pro I noticed in playing it. I'll post a more detailed review when I can get a break from running the hero contest. |

If the newer version crashed, it's a problem with the Map Optimizer, I don't know why. |

I'll be honest with you, nothing i've read about the map excites me enough to try it. The outland tileset is lame, and i do not agree with your design choice. This is however, a matter of taste. I'm just sayin' i'm not diggin it ![]() |
