A large, runic rock stands in the middle of a field. Yea, thats basically what it is. Wanting some suggestions and criticism. Im really having trouble getting the grass to look like. It looks crappy just using a big mass, but is tedious to place little by little. I know the back is missing a lot, it's WIP. |

An almost original scene, with some resemblance to other works I've seen (namely, "plains"-themes). The field captured me the most as seeing a desolate ground does not envelop a player, in my opinion. |

Pretty good. A few stuff though: - Maybe add and orange-ish fog to add some atmosphere. - The resurrection stone looks like crap compared to the other terrain ;D - Try to place the rocks in the grass mainly because they look weird when put on a rocky open tile because of the tile to doodad contrast. |

good points, Purge & Just. Making the rock modifications. Any suggestions to replace the Resurrection stone? =X EDIT: Revised the grass/fog, added two trees in the background because of how hard it is to see grass. Still needing rock :( |

Frankly, The Monolith has grown on me... it really somehow, makes the scene. Using less 'skins'/'models', does show how well a terrainer can truly improvise, and create with what's given. As for the Orange glow... it was a start, but maybe it's just my opinion that, it doesn't really fit with the scene.. doesn't blend in with the doodads, terrain, or sky to put it simply: I do not feel synergy. One last thing about the trees: the one on the far right could just be remove there is something in art called "Open Space", which gives the viewer a "breather", sort of, from a would-be cluttered piece of art.. showing the sky very openly, may bring a new life to this picture. Note: The attached file was an attempt to show you visually, what grass would change due to it. ____________________ ____________________ Reference * For an added realistic finalization, you could consider resizing the grass, tunning it to the sun's rays (more rays = more growth = higher grass, if you follow..) |

Yea... I woke up this morning and realized I hated the orange fog. I've removed the tree on the right and sized up the grass -- it's much more noticeable now. (also added larger flowers) |

Much better. |

First was my favorite. I liked the feel of it, and the grass looked better IMO. |
