Clickable Item Upgrade System?

I was wondering if there was a system developed or could be developed for a item upgrade system so that you would start with like Example and click on it then that item disappears and 5seconds later you get whats called Example (Upgraded) which is basically two of the same item just the second one is better than the first. If someone could help me with this it would be great.

If you aren't using any items that can have active spells, just give it the Charge Gold and Lumber ability, and use a trigger to check when it happens, and just replace.
