I got an Idea for a 5-person Co-op map involving a lot of puzzles, some cool fights, and a kick-ass boss at the end. There's four pandas, and a Blood-elf. Yes it makes sense when you hear the story. In addition to their hero abilities, each Hero would start out with a puzzle-solving ability. The Fire-panda could light certain things on fire, and walk through fire. The Lightning Panda, same thing, with electricity. The Poison-Gas Panda (Brewmaster) could walk through poison gas, and do something else with it (Wouldn't work the same as the others, but I'm not sure what yet. it has to make logical sense). Finally, the Light-Panda (Pandaren Sage by Norinrad) could walk through lasers (Oh Yes) and could reflect and deflect them and whatnot to solve puzzles. Then the Blood elf (Technically he's just an elf, since it's not set in Warcraft) can MC elementals for solving puzzles. Of course, solo puzzles are interesting, but the best parts would be co-op puzzles. Things like, say: Blood elf MCs a Treant. Fire-panda lights it on fire. Bloodelf moves it over to out-of-reach explosives, and bam, you have a new pathway. I'm aware that most of how fun it is hinges on the puzzles and the Hero Skills, I.E., the actual 'quality'. However, what I'm discussing here is the design specifically. The only real problem I can foresee is that you don't get to choose your hero. Since you need one of each puzzle-ability, and for story purposes (Which is actually featured in this, there will be cinematics (But not mandatory, you can turn them off)), 5 players would only be able to pick the 5 Heroes. And, players probably won't like that much. Anyways, what do you guys think? |

I agree with the idea. In theory it could be really good, so make a little beta and we'll see what players do with it. I foresee that many players might just think it's too complicated and try to do everything by themselves, but I think it's a good idea. |

It seems like a great mind and logic game, and as ruler said, try a BETA..you never know, players might like to be part of a great puzzle-solving team! If you wanted to you could also choose to have more heroes in the story. |

Sounds cool if your going to be playing with friends, but on publics people tend to try and solo the whole thing. Then your fire panda dies (assumed by the player to be the strongest) and your screwed. Make sure u put little warnings and hints on load screen, startup, and a min into the game so people realise its a team game. Sounds cool man, puzzle games are few and far between on WC, so id like to see more =) |

Well there would be a rez system. I'm thinking since it would be a large dungeon, a good death penalty is just 'walking the hell back' after like thirty seconds to rez. There would be doors that close during boss fights, so a rezzer couldn't get back in, and whatnot. But I hate games where you screw up and have to start over. You know, making your team wait while you walk back because you did something dumb seems like a good penalty to me. I was also thinking of doing an actual cinematic at the start for story purposes (And a few for bosses). They could be turned off, of course. And then we can also have Tips at the start, or when a new puzzle element is introduced. I'm already working on a few cool puzzles, one of which is an elevator puzzle, and some cool bosses. |

If you want to add more heroes, the puzzles are going to need "more dimensions". I suppose by that I mean, there must be more than one way to solve a puzzle. Once you have six heroes, and five players, there should be ways to progress without the need of the sixth hero, which might prove vital in some puzzles to make it easier than it should be with the presence of one hero, then without it. |

I agree with Ignitedstar. For example, in your example (with the fire and treant one), let's say the fire panda is not playing. Then maybe you have the light-panda reflect some light somewhere to activate a switch in which if a unit is on a certain spot they are alighted aflame...or something else, it's your game after all. Be creative! :P |
