War of the Ancients - Campaign Idea

Hi, im new here and noob in modding (im noob in triggers, cant even create a fifth race).


I always thougt that the War of the Ancients, the major war between Demons, Night Elfs, Highborne, Dragons and many other races would be a perfect campaign or maybe even several campaigns.

So this is my idea:

* 2 New Campaigns, one featuring the Burning Legion
* Burning Legion as playable race (or campaign race if you cant make them playable).
* 1 Minor campaign faction, the Highborne aka modified Night Elfs who onlt appears in campaign


The story.

10.000 years ago the Night Elfs had a wast empire. The Night Elfs were the primary superpower in the world at this time and few dared to challenge them.
Does who did soon faded away from existince.

The Night Elves were led by Queen Azshara.
She and her Highborne drained powers from the mystical lake called the "Well of Eternity" and gained enormous amounts of magic.
The Highborne were the higher class in the Night Elven society. They were also very dependence on the magic from the Well of Eternity.

Cenarius, the Forest God, and many Night Elven scholars warned the Highborne from draining to much of the Wells powers and that their reckless use of magic could lead to dark events in the future.

Azshara and her Highborne ignored them and contiuned with their reckless use of the Wells magic.

As the Highbornes power grew in strenght they started to treat the lower class much crueler. Soon their beloved Queen Azshara turned more and more strange and ignored almost everyone except her High Priests.

Mal'furion Stormrage was a young scholar who studied the arts of druidismn. He would soon become the first druid.
He begun to suspect that a terrible power was corrupting the Highborne and his beloved Queen Azshara.
Though he could not conceive of the evil that was to come, he knew that the night elves lives would soon be changed forever....

And then you get to know more what happens in the campaign.
I have already planned some stuff about the Burning Legion faction and the campaign.

I thougt their would be two campaigns.

But how they will be depends on what version you want to make.

The developed version where Broxigar, a orc and Krasus, a dragon teleports through time and appears in the War of the Ancient and change time.

or

The not so finished orginal version without any time changes and no Broxigar or dragon.

I suggest the first one since that one is the most developed.


These are the Burning Legion heroes would be:

Houndmaster - a Doomguard that uses lots of demonic pets and hunter-like spells.
Appears in the campaign as: Hakkar the Houndmaster.

Dreadlord - just replace the Dreadlord with Dark Ranger.
Appears in the campaign as: Some legion agent or commander. Alternate they could just be shown i cut-scenes.

Eredar Warlock - a spellcasting hero.
Appears in the campaign as: Archimonde

Pit Lord - make the neutral hero into a real hero.
Appears in the campaign as: Mannoroth


CAMPAIGN HERO

Sorcerer - heavly magic based campaign only hero.
Appears in the campaign as: Queen Azshara and her highest servants.


Some Burning Legion units.

Felguard, Voidwalker, Felhounds, Succubusses, Diffrent types of Satyrs, Infernals, Infernal Machines, Infernal Juggernauts, Fel Dragons


I have never done a Wc3 project before, i could do it myself but i felt it was nice to share the idea.

You're idea is commendable; however, given your admitted "lack of experience", I'd highly suggest just making a custom race to start off with.

I too started off with the idea to make a custom (Jungle Troll) campaign; however, I stopped when I realized it was too much work, and instead made a Jungle Troll race. (check my signature for details).
