In search of spell ideas

Since I'm rubbish at thinking of cool spell ideas, I need you guys to throw some cool ideas around.

The map is an AoS, and it's human vs human (just so I don't start hearing ideas about orcs and that )

I don't need ideas relating to death (whatever that would include), fire, holy, or voodoo. Pretty much -ANY- spell idea that is, in some way, related to humans, and isn't associated with the 4 spell 'categories' mentioned previously is welcome

And please post your ideas something along the lines of:

-Light of the Gods

-Passive/AOE/Heal

-Basically when the unit with the spell attacks, it has a % chance to heal in an aoe around him, which the targets (allies or both) can change depending on how you want it.

-When this unit attacks, it has a % chance to heal all units around him.

-The effect of holy light or resurrection seems fine.

But in all seriousness we could use a bit more information about the maps perhaps. The main gameplay revolves around killing opposing heroes I presume and creeps are just fodder? How big of a difference does one herolevel make? Does gold play a role?

Fair enough

1) Creeps will be playing a big role in the map, since the spawn numbers will be modifiable in-game (i.e. taking X units away from lane Y, and adding X units to lane Z) and upgrades/alterations to the creeps will be taken into account

2) We are trying to make it so that level difference doesn't have as big an impact as it does on other maps i.e. you gain less exp depending on how lower the level of the dying hero is, and stat-based abilities will have a significantly steep curve for stat damage as your stats increase

3) Items aren't going to be a very big part of the map, other than basic stuff like potions, MS boosting items, and maybe a few powerful things, so gold will play a role, just not a very big one in comparison to other maps. I'm not sure about other uses for gold, I still have to find out about that from the rest of the team

Hmm, a few quick ideas:

Phantom March/Illusionary Army

Active, Area, either targeted or non-targeted

Creates illusions of all nearby friendly creeps (or creeps in target area). One illusion per unit is created and these illusions copy the action performed by the real unit. Whether or not they deal or receive damage from attacks is up to you (and how much each etc.). The illusions could either be solid units as in Mirror Image -ability or they could be more phantom-like beings without collision size and with transparent model.

[Meh, you deal with the tooltip ;)]

Mirror Image thingy could work or perhaps just some simple spawning effect for the phantom-dudes for the visual side.

Heroism/Heroic Aspirations/Champion

Active, single-target

Makes target friendly creep a Hero unit. The unit will have higher stats than his non-heroic counterparts and will gain experience as long as he/she remains alive.

[Dunno about tooltips]

Simply making the units model a bit larger and perhaps giving it the glow thingy.

Steal/Pickpocket

Active, single-target

Steals all the gold carried by target creep. That creep will no longer give its bounty (could be used to either get some gold quickly from unfriendly creeps or to prevent opposing heroes from gaining gold from friendly creeps).

[Screw tooltips]

Some sort of gold animation whats-its above the target.

Confusion/Berserk/Rage

Active, single-target/area target

Makes target unit(s) attack a random unit within X radius for X seconds. Probably shouldn't work on players' heroes, dunno.

[Down with tooltips]

Isn't there a question mark animation thingy somewhere? Could work as a visual.

Erm, well... Try to make your spells fit together with each Hero. You could throw a bunch of triggered spells together on each Hero, but it's much easier to come up with Ideas when you give each Hero a theme (And not just a flavor theme, more importantly, a Gameplay theme).

Thanks for the ideas Jester, I like the Phantom March, not too sure about the others though.

@Burning Rose: If I have the ideas, I can adjust them to suit a theme, if necessary. Even if I got only 1 spell idea for a theme, I could probably get at least one more onto that, and request that ideas for that theme be submitted :)
