I was in the middle of saving a map of mine (I decided to try to get myself back into warcraft again), when my computer crashed. I was about half done saving, and now when I try to open it I get an error, saying that either the main map file cannot be opened, or level info data could not be opened. I tried opening it as an MPQ, but the MPQ editor immediately crashed. Could any of you guys take a crack at it? I really only need to recover the trigger data. (Note: This is using RtC, so it will not compile or test properly without it, I believe) 'Test' is the map in the location I saved it. 'WorldEditTestMap' is the backup made by WE. |

It happened to me once. The map file is dead, and there's almost nothing you can do aside from loading a backup (you DO have a backup, right?) or starting from scratch. Sorry =( PS: By backup, I mean one you generated or one generated by Newgen (since it keeps a huge stash of them). The Worldedit one is probably corrupted as well (since it tried to backup a corrupted file). PSS: Did you check maps/test/ ? That has a copy of the map from the last time you tested your map through the WE. And does the backup generated by the WE work? (You didn't tell us) |

The file is unrecoverable. The hash table decrypts to gibberish. Part of the file table isn't even there. The files may or may not be in the MPQ, but without the file or hash tables you're going to have a hell of a time finding them. |

there must be a folder with files. (in the folder where your map is destinated) which after get packed into mpq. so... |

I got it! There was a backup located in my NewGen directory. |
