Lost in space - working thread

Damn, let's put more life in this forum...I feel lonely here. Don't be afraid to post wip threads!

Anyway, I want to make something for this month's Gnomon Workshop 3D challenge, and the theme is, as the thread title illustrates, "Lost in space". As soon as I read the theme, this image poped in my head:



(by the way, it's a very fast sketch just to lay down my idea)
Today I started modeling it, and I began with the SPACE CAR:




Right now I'll go to sleep and I'll post more updates as I go. I have roughly 2 weeks to finish this.
Oh, and I did not forget about my dominance war entry and the doom models, I'm going to finish those too, especially now that I'll have a ton of free time after exams, but I want to do this first since I surely can do it before the deadline...I may fail an exam or two, but oh well, there's always the autumn session and next year :P

The dude on (my) right has the best facial expression ever, I could swear he's saying "What the f*ck are you talking about?!" This is really good stuff though, I'm totally digging it.

It needs something that is outrageously overdone on top of the car...

Make the car a Dacia. :P

It needs a hood ornament of Saturn. :p

ha! well I did use an old Dacia 1310 picture as reference for the front of the car, and I think it shows :D

If you manage to finish it in time, I bet it'll be well-received. :)

I surely hope so. But right now my computer is fubar and I'm slowly turning into a mini-hulk due to anger, so...be right back....

well right now I don't think I'll be able to finish it...my fucking computer is fucked up big time, I had to format C: and reinstall windows, and the fucking setup hasn't moved from 18% for more that half an hour...wtf?

EDIT: k, everything is fine now. That wasn't the actual setup, it was when it was copying the setup shit to disk. Now it seems the installation is going nicely.

MORE EDIT: I finished the reinstallation, it's all fine and smooth now, just finished setting everything up, installing max etc...My other partition, where I had everything important (projects, etc.) is intact....Now I'll have to customize max all over again :((

HOLYSHITEDIT: FUUUCK, I just realized that I lost ALL my oblivion saves :O!!!! HEEEEELLL!!!!! Everything I did there....aslo Civ4...AAAAARGH! FUCK!
