Not sure this is the right forum, but here goes: I acquired Oinkerwinkles' and Magos, with the assumption that they would allow me to do stuff like geomerges, or stuff like taking bits and pieces of other models and mixing them together. I know those are MDL editing tools (and so shouldn't be in this forum), but I keep hearing about "Milkshape"; is this the tool I am seeking? If so, where can it be found (link please)? Or am I just wrong; geomerging can be done using the aforementioned MDL editing tools? Any help would be appreciated. |

milkshape is a 3d application allowing you to make 3d models from scratch (you would have know that if you had searched the tutorials section or google, which is very poor of you as you didnt o that) and yes, your able to make geomerges with oinkerwinkle and magos, just look into the fucking tools section! |

Well, I did some research after the fact, and found Milkshape was said to cost money; so I discarded that. I also found a geomerge tutorial, but... Oh wait, I guess that's applicable to every body part. Never mind. My apologies. (But what if the part I'm "geomerging" isn't in it's own separate mesh, like the Ghoul's head was in the geomerge tutorial; I can't just select some vertices and then copy/paste that onto another model, can I?) |

Milkshape 3D is €25, you can afford it. |

Yea, but any amount of money is too much; I'm not that dedicated, and I'm gone within a year. I'll make do with Oinkerwinkles + Magos (and it seems that they'll be more than enough). |

i dont know much about merging, and you should probably post your m,erging problems in the mdl corner, one subforum under the moddeling subforum, but as far as i know you need to copy the ghoul, open it with vertex modifier and delete everythign that isnt part of what you want to merge... |

Yeah, you're right; I just tried to follow the tutorial and at least got that far. The idea is, you just delete the vertices in the geosets that you don't need; in fact, you're supposed to remove all the vertices from all the geosets, other than the one you need (so nothing's leftover). But yeah, I'll use the MDL forum from now on; I just wasn't sure about this in general first. Thanks all. |
