The future of Warcraft III

The title of this topic says it kinda already... what will the future be? Is there still a serious interest in this game on the modding part and most important: will the interest in this game remain when Starcraft II comes? And my final question: will this site keep beeing dedicated to warcraft III or will it eventually follow the mass and turn it's back to this game after 10 years.

A lot of people will change to SC2 when it comes out, but WC3 will still be around for a long time. WC3 is very well established, and im pretty sure that the servers will stay, and a lot of the modding community will stay (those with dodgey computers =P I play wc3 coz i havent got a new computer yet =D)

As for the site.... idk

Sometimes people forget the name of the site they're posting on. The answer to this question is rather obvious. :p

We'd be insane not to support sc2 once it comes out. Eventually the wc3 modding sections will move to the bottom and be simplified, and the sc2 modding sections will take dominance. Its the logical and best thing to do, really.

But obviously, we'll never turn our backs on wc3.

Since this site is WC3-campaigns, I think SC2 modding forums should be on the bottom, if there will be any.

Or split even. Wc3 is what made this site, and Sc2 shouldn't just clean the place out. However, not moving to Sc2 would be idiotic indeed.

hmm, I don't think it would be idiotic, because the name of the site is wc3campaigns, maybe if it would have had a different name...for example, the forum heroescommunity.com forum started out with heroes 3 and added the new versions as they appeared, but it's ok 'cause the name doesn't refer to any specific version...don't know man, it'd be kinda weird for a site with wc3 in the name to also be about sc2...So I don't think it'd be idiotic. But it would be good to have them nonetheless...maybe if the site's name would change? But the legacy....don't think so...dunno

I meant under assumption the site went under a name change.

It's very easy to register an SC2-whatever URL for a different site when the game is released.

Yeah, we could just start up a spin-off site, sc2c.
But let's wait with that until Blizzard actually announces a release date.
