This was my first attempt a terraining and i went with the Northrend theme. As you can see i didn't really stick to any specific type of area i just created things as they popped into my head(all based around the Northrend theme of course). Any criticism is welcome,be as harsh are you like. = )

A lot of the screen shots are blurry and what not,I wasn't exactly sure how to go about taking them but I did the best i could.

First up is the overview.

Some polar bears in an icy forest.

This was my attempt at a graveyard in the frozen wastes of northrend.

Some Nerubians in a frozen forest.

These last two screen shots are my sad attempt at terraining with water and a naga base camp kinda thing. = )

They suck. That harsh enough? I'm kidding. They aren't great though. For Blizzard terrain it looks fine, but we generally do better than Blizzard. : )

Blizzard cliffs are hideous. Some will refute me and tell you they can be used in terrain. I say only certain playable terrain, and even then I would challenge people to try and avoid them. They just don't look very good. Ever.

Blizzard trees are considered by all to be an eye sore. There's no discussion there. Custom trees are the shit.

Environment needs work. Use things like shrubs, river rushes (variation 3, dark tint, and scaled down a bit) and viney plant thing. As well try and make trees a more realistic size. I got more, but I have to go.

Among those things, it also needs some fog.
And make it so we can't see the end of the map, but fog can help that too.
And, if it helps, focus on one thing. You'll see many terrains have a centerpiece, this kind of lacks one.

Like said, blizzard cliffs are ugly.

Try not to use them unless its for gameplay purposes.
If your making a map for pure terrain ignore them.

Haha, I think we've discussed it enough. :P
I'll admit they can look okay sometimes.

I'd say the blizzard cliffs look great unless you use them to create large mountains.

Anyway, I replied to comment a bit on the terrain. First off some tips to go along with the cliff-tile rant; never use two different cliff tiles on the same level, if they are connected that is. As you can see on the lower left on your first picture, down at the naga base, there's an abrupt end to the snow tile, and it suddenly starts on a grassy one.
Also, if you're making a map purely for terrain, as your post was inclining, I'd use only custom doodads with no pathing and a wider size-range. This could help you create a richer environment.

Then I also have some tips for taking pictures - press i to hide those ugly purple-black boxes that appear when you use some doodads and pathing blockers, it helps the image itself alot!
Also try to avoid showing any starting position markers, I usually hide them in the shadows at the side of the map I'm making. As for the blurry pictures, I think it's the weather effect you're using, it's rather intense on a few of those screenshots.
