Hi, I use to do a lot of warcraft editing a long time ago, and now I'd like to make a new map. But before I do that, I'm just wondering if there are any map editing tools or special editors that you would suggest or know about. Also where can I find a tutorial on model/skin/icon importing? I've forgotten how hehe. Thanks for any help and sorry if this is in the wrong section. |

Well, you'll need JassNewGenPack for your editor. However, due to patch 1.22, you'll need to do this: -Get a copy of the 1.21b worldedit.exe (the one with no icon. There's a couple links for it around here somewhere) -Update -Back up the worldedit.exe in your Wc3 folder (after updating), move it out, and put the one you downloaded in. So yeah. JassNewGenPack is a biggie. Otherwise, there aren't alot of tools you'll NEED, unless you go look for them in the tools section and pick ones you want. For importing: Skins: http://www.wc3campaigns.net/showthread.php?t=78922 Models: http://www.wc3campaigns.net/showthread.php?t=91803 Icons: http://www.wc3campaigns.net/showthread.php?t=84566 Good luck! |

With the JassNewGenpack, you also get Grimoire, which is a neat hack for WC3 that is great for bugging. Unfortunately, it doesn't work with patch 1.22 yet, so you'll need to leave that disabled or testing maps will lead to WC3 crashing (unless you have two WC3 installs and have the registry point to the pre-1.22 install, you cannot currently have Grimoire and battle.net). |
