General Information

This towerdefence was started a long time ago (more than 2 years) and i decided some weeks ago to finish and optimise this quite dead project. Balancing should be quite good now and thee map made some huge improvement till its quite far now. It looks quite finished but all in all its not so i need feedback , ideas and strong critism to improve it! thats the reason i uploaded it here :>
It is a Single Tower Defence with chooseable Difficulty (Very Easy , Easy , Normal , Hard , INSANE!) and Lives (25 Lives / 15 Lives / 10 Lives / 5 Lives / 1 Live).

Terrain



Difficulty/Lives



Units will give Bounty and also you will get a Bonus Gold after each Wave
(Gold for Completing the Wave , Gold for having a chain of beeing Leak Free , Interest Rate (3,5%) , Bonus Gold for Secrets )




Multiboards


There are Two swapping Multiboards Ingame.
One displays the Next Waves and the other one each players Difficulty and remaining Lives

[point]Commands[/point]At the moment there are 8 Commands.

"-air" Displays all air waves and shows how many waves till the next air wave left

"-special" Displays all special waves and shows how many waves till the next special wave left

"-harder" Increases your difficulty (be careful with this command :D )

"-income" Shows your current Income rate (3,5% , increaseable with Secrets)

"-property" / "-property all" Displays the gold amount you/each player got after completing a wave in total (ranking)

"-secrets" /"-secrets all" Displays the number of found secrets you/each player got (ranking)







Waves

There are 50 Waves in this Tower Defense which are quite various.

Each 7th Wave is Air (Ground Towers deal 100% to Ground units and 25% to air units / Anti Air Towers Deal 200% to air units and 25% to ground units )
Air Waves ( 7 , 14 , 21 , 28 , 35 , 42 , 49 )
Be prepared for them !

Each 5th Waves is a Special Wave. These Waves a really different and you gotta be carefull with them. They can heal eachother , speed up , dodge your attacks or explode on death stunning your towers! You have to be prepared for everything :P



Towers

All in all there are 54 Towers in this game. At the beginning you got 4 Towers to choose of. (Human Tower , Orc Tower , Undead Tower , Nightelf Tower)
These can be upggraded 4 times each and got its Own advantages (e.g. Humand tower has bouncing attacks , Night Elf is antiair , ....)

With reseaching your Knowledge you can will get 4 new upgradeable Towers (Lightning Towers , Frost Towers , Mechanical Towers , Fire Towers )
Also each has its own Adavntage and each level 4 Tower has a Special Ability

You got two important unique towers to research (Nature Tower and Naga Tower )

Later you can get the Ultimate Towr with different Upgrades (Ultimate Tower 2/3/4 , Sniper Tower 1/2/3 , Demolisher Tower 1/2/3 , Laser Tower 1/2/3)

Also there is a Secret Tower you can get with finding Secrets!

:D There are 6 Different Secrets in this Tower defense which can be helpfull and increase your gold income ( +2 Bonus Goled each round , +0,5% Interest rate )

Tips:
- Save teh Bunny !
- Pengu from nowhere is quite fussy
- Racoon had no breakfast :( but sometimes he has to show patience
- Bam ! Stomp that ugly rat to the ground
- Pandas are lazy animals , they wanna be carried
- Your really dont know that Owl ?

I wont give more nformation about the Secrets :)




So thats all i can say about Snake TD
To get a real Impression you have to test it

Alright, so I played this. Here's what I found:
  • Terrain was very bland. Nothing to it, just... purple and black. Ugly.
  • The game depended too much on anti-air. No anti-air? You're fucked, gg. But once you got maybe 1 AA tower, you were fine for the whole game (until you could buy mech towers, which replaced them).
  • What was the point of air units? Really. This isn't a maze TD, so the air units do nothing special other than make 95% of the towers suck.
  • Few spelling errors: "Critical", not "Kritical" (Kritical Strike)/"Demolition" not "Demolishion" (Demolishion towers)/"Being" not "Beeing" (Beeing leak free for...)
  • The base nature tower's tooltip is cut short.
  • The naga tower became completely and utterly useless after about level 25ish. Even at full power, 125 damage is almost nothing when the enemies have well over 9000.
  • The "Powa-Seal" enemy's regeneration rate is too high. I understand that was the point, but you made it a bit too high.
  • The upgrade for Knowledge should tell you what you'll get when you upgrade it. I upgraded to level 4 and I don't think I even got anything for it.
  • The gold amounts I got late game made it hard to keep up with the rapidly strengthening enemies. And as the game went on, only Ultimate/Lazer towers were the truly strong towers, and they were insanely expensive.
  • Bonus effects, like Chain Lightning and Frost Nova, didn't do nearly enough damage late-game to be useful (except for the slowing by Frost Nova)
  • Players got gold for leaked enemies. Was this intended?
  • Orc, Human, undead, etc. towers became completely useless late game. The NE level 4 tower was only useful for her mild AA and her attack-up aura.
  • On the "Lazer Towers", its "Lazer" ability should display how much damage it does.

I liked the secrets, they were cute. Pretty easy to figure out though. Damn bunny, couldn't save him =(

However, this TD is bland. There's no pizazz. Nothing big, nothing majorly unique. You may have different towers, but they're all the same setup:

"Bounce" "Anti-Air" "Slow" "Splash" "Large Damage". Throw some new abilities in there. Give the races more variety. Break the mold a bit. Cause right now, most of your towers are just the basic skeleton with a different skin.

This is a decent TD, yes. But it needs more. Get creative, try some new things that you've never seen in a TD before. I personally like single-player TD's like this one (Non-mazing and TD's that don't depend on a fullhouse and a leakcatcher who never gets gold and thus ruins the game). If you need a bit of inspiration, play "Elemental TD". It's amazing, and should give you lots of inspiration for towers.

i know , after all the air units got a bit senseless , they only force you to get a bit variety in your towers

many towers get kinda useless and weak to the end
but the naga tower is a quite good assistance - not too expensive , also 100% on air units , fast attackrate , hits 3 enemys per attack and has a immolation skill
yes , it is no that usefull as the nature tower

the problem is that the chosen difficulty mainly depends on the units health (e.g Very easy - 60% health) but with its regeneration it will reach the tower with 100% of their health which makes it hard to balance but i can reduce the regenerationrat a bit

they are expensive but also strong (Demolition and sniper got the same power)
there are 3 "stages" of towers
The races at the beginning ( 10 / 20 / 40 / 70 gold )
the elementals ( 30 / 70 / 120 / 180 gold )
and the ultimate ones ( 120 / 200 / 300 / 500 )
maybe i can rase the gold gain of the last 10-15 waves but the interest rate (with secrets) can be very usefull to get money - if you dont need towers do not build them , with saving a bit money its possible to get e.g. four lvl 3 Laser Towers at the end

i calculated each [damag/second]/costs- value to balance it which gives each tower the same strengh ... but all in all thats the bad point you mentioned

lol , each game i hear 6/7 noobs cry for help because these secrets are too "impossible" and even if i help they are too stupid to solve them , imo they are possible as you said ... i am going to rework the way of saving the bunny.. its kinda hard atm

yep.. its nothing new but imo quite fun to play
it was not my intention to create a extremely special TD with thing which are never used before

i also got some problems with the critical error
i thought it was fixed but after 3 succesful tests it still appears... im kinda desperate because the error seems to be totally random (exept that he appears to the end) and i (also others) cannot find sth wrong in my triggers (but i have to admit that a big part of this TD is some GUI craps cuz i started the map a long time ago and did not rework everything after continuing now)
i would be happy if someone could take a look at my script and triggers (map is unprotected)

He had an immolation skill? I don't think he did, I never saw it. And the multishot is still useless late game, when they have 9000+ hp. He's really only useful early on, and for a specialty tower that shouldn't be happening.

No they wouldn't, not if you do it gradually. Every, say, 10 levels, increase the ability level of spell towers by 1, so they're stronger. Or allow them to be further upgraded after wave X to accomodate the additional strength of later waves.

Meh. I only leaked special enemies, and even then. I would make the gold half of what you would get if you killed it.

They were so easy, lol. The bunny one IS really hard though, since you have to force your towers not to attack... causing yourself to probably leak.

I played the map, and for a TD it was very good. Now, there was some things though;
  • The terrain should be better.
  • The grammar could really use some more love.
  • More unique towers would be great.

I don't got time for a better review now, but overall it was pretty good.

Yeah , he has an immolation skill but its quite weak... i thought of giving him a spell which deals a percentage value of the enemys Healthpoints to make this special tower usefull to the end

Hm... lol , i never thought of upgrading the abilities after Wave X .. that qould be quite nice... i guess ill add it

If i get feedback i will DEFINETELY work on it , i started with 1.05 but didnt work on it for a quite long time cuz i got some other developing projects but it will not get stopped
and at the moment im a bit desperate with this Critical Error i dont know where to fix
