Hey peopel. Im working on a RPG map and I would like it if I could get new models for my main heros in the RPG. My RPG map is going to have a race choice for your hero and with each race I plan on making it so you can choose what sex your hero will be also. So Im trying to find someone or anyone thats willing to help by making a few new models for my characters. And its not really necessary but would be very nice and awesome if I could get completely new animations for each model. These are the races Im including as choices for my heros. Human Gnome Dwarf Halfling Orc Elf I need 2 models for each race, male and female. I ask that if you do 1 model for 1 of the races, e.g. male dwarf, that you do the other sex for that race so that the models are relatively similar. I dont need these to be done for awhile but the quicker they are done the better. ALSO: Id like it for none of the models to have any weapons at all in their hands, all the weapons are going to be equiped in-game by triggers :D |

Making a model takes time. Making animations takes even more time. I suggest you learn to do it yourself. Nobudy is going to invest in your anonymous mod. |

Yea Ive already tried learning to model and I have no skill in it at all. I know it seemes easy to someone who knows how to model but I cant do it. If I could I wouldnt have requested this. And I know it takes time, that why I said that there wasnt any time that I absolutly need these to be done. |

I used to completely fail at Jass, and while it's not quite the same difficulty level, I can certainly code up anything wc3 could ever need, now. Just devote time to it, if you're really serious. Or change your project to fit your skills. |

It doesnt matter anyways because no one seems to be able to make a qorking add-on for gmax to alow importing of mdx models, and im never going to use the war3modeleditor cause that thing is the worst modeling program ive ever looked at. |

Dude. Vertexmodify can do wonders. And seriously, if you don't want to do model edits (which you would use oinkerwinkle's tools and war3modeleditor) you can just use milkshape 3D. It is 25$ or 35$ (depends on some odd shit) and it can do suitable shit for wc3. Then you finalize it with war3modeleditor. Also, magos model editor (war3modeleditor) is more of an optimizer than actual MODELING tool. Anyone who actually MODELS with it should be considered retarded. Also, you can get MDLVIS (linking it will result in permanent ban, mind you) to edit more stuff on the model, more possibilities than vertexmodify has. If you can't do even that, you fail at life, let alone your project. |

Ok idc what you think about milkshape because it is the second worst modeling program out there and the only purpose ive seen fit for it is a mondel file type converter. And besides, I have Maya 2008 so screw milkshape. The only realy problems I have, besides me being no good at modeling (which no one seems to understand when someone naturally cannot model but oh well), is that I have to way to import or export mdx model types from any model program I have. |

Modeling with milkshape is like doing a brain surgery with chop sticks. |

Look at it this way. Nobody is ever going to make these models for you. You either do em yourself, or you don't get them. |

I dont get why there is a request area if all that happens in them is people shoot you down and tell you to learn to model yourself... Maybe this section of the forums should be renamed to "Learn to model yourself here!!!" Honestly, this might as well be a spam section or something if nobody is really willing to HELP. And don't feel bad guys, your not the only site that has a pointless request area. the Filefront forums with their model request areas are all also very much pointless as well cause its the same exact response, "Learn to model yourself." ... And even when I do ask for someone to help me slighty with learning to model, I get told to use MILKSHAPE! wtf is with that, the worst program ever that you absolutly HAVE to look at 50 tutorials just understand how you edit a vertex, and we are going to suggest it to someone who says they cant model at all. Wow... Honestly, I know a good lot of the people here are good at making things, such as buttons and models, but all I have to say to that is, NOOBS! |

Even if you found a half-decent modeler to make one of the models for you, odds are he has no idea how to animate, so then you need to find an animator to do the animations for you. People look at your request and then realize they don't have the necessary skills to make the models themselves so they decide they can't help you. Start smaller and with more resources: Next time you request something, go find a somewhat-related model on TheHiveWorkshop that people can base their model off of and link to that here. Maybe only request the model and then try to cannibalize some animations yourself. Maybe post some background on your project that supports the fact that you think it will be both finished and good; often people get discouraged because they think their work is going to waste. And try requesting only 1 (or 2 if you must) model(s) at any given time. |
