emote_confused What is The Creatures of the Night? Alright, COTN is a project I,ve been working on since november, which is something really innovative. there's stuff you,ve probably never seen before in any maps you,ve ever played on B.net. emote_confused What's so special about COTN? -First of all, it is a Cinematic-only saga in a large world. -There's a good use of music which gives COTN its magic. -The use of cameras @ 1st person (I developed this one before the FPS mod) -Landscapes never seen before, such as the forest in the sneak preview (first scene) -underground cave-looking landscape (that really looks underground actually) emote_confused Why can't I open the w3m file using World edit? Because it is protected, I don't want people to steal my work! emote_confused I've got a question about making a cinematic, can you help me? I sure would like to, feel free to ask questions about pretty much anything, I always try and give the best answer possible. You can also PM me, no matter who you are: a simple noob @ map making or a pro, I do care about others, I always reply (unlike some big headed people out there I won't name). emote_confused What's the worst thing I could tell you? Well, tell me "YOU COPIED THIS AND THAT AND IT SUCKS ANYWAY", I hate that kind of people who brag about nothing. If you want to comment this, try and make sure this is constructive criticism. emote_confused I've got a good idea you could include in upcoming parts, do you accept others' ideas? I actually do, and I give you the credits. At the end of the saga, there'll be a credits page with all the names of people who helped me make this huge project come true. I'll also try and tell what the person actually brought to the movie. emote_confused Can I help you making that project? Well I believe the only way you could help me is to suggest random stuff. About the Author If you bothered to check my portfolio (by cliking on the "DVL PRODUCTIONS" at the left of the screen @ COTN website), you'll see I love drawing random stuff. A dream I've got is to work for some huge projects, just like LotR. So by doin this, I'm kinda showing off what I can do using a very limited budget/software. |

Just out of curiosity, how can somebody steal a distinctive and unplayable map? It's not like you'd see knock-offs on Battle net. And it's certainly not like somebody could open your map, make minor changes, and resubmit it to wc3campaigns claiming it as their own. Neither of the other "big three" cinematic makers (Insaniteus or Labor Party) protected their maps, and there's no glut of me-too copycats or outright rip-offs of either of their works. The greatest compliment I can give a map (such as this one) is that after seeing it, I want to look at the innards to see how it ticks. Ah well. |

Well I'm just making sure I get the complete credit and that COTN gets known by a lot of people before removing all of the security, so this way, nobody ever goes into another "war 3 maps community" and claim that this work has been done by him, while none else yet know about the official project/author.... When I get the Wc3campaigns hosting(since it is more reliable than my current server), I'll post a message in the news about this project which will make it much more popular than it actually is... Is that a good reason? :) |

Think I might have sounded a bit too strident there. No offense was intended. And I should have said more clearly that I think the movie was polished and professional-looking. Personally, I think protection for non-battlenet maps is overkill (the wc3 community is fairly small in this respect, and fairly aware of who's doing what. And we'll all be lucky if people remember our maps in a year, let alone our names :ggani: ), but I'll concede you have good reasons. Looking forward to seeing the next part :) |

Oh it didn't sound that rude Ari don't worry =) sooner or later, you'll be able to see how it has been done. |

That was the coolest thing I've ever seen. You have some real talent. You should do cinematics for campaign teams. I love the stuff man keep up the good work. |

Guest | I think we all have to admit it: Daemon Killar is Warcraft III's analog to Peter Jackson. |

Guest | Just think of what you could create, Daemon Killar, with the extended World Editor in Frozen Throne! Another reason I will wait for it's release... |

Well by that time COTN will probably be nearing part 10 which should be pretty much the end. So whene verything's over, I'll make sure to revamp the whole thing and maybe make some sort of mod out of it, just like Rise of Krill or that kinda stuff. |
