Giving abilities is apparently killing trained units on birth

For some strange reason, after a complex little twist, the units which I've set a trigger to give them an ability once trained, are instantly dying. I've no idea why this is, I don't even know if I have a kill trigger in the entire map.
Trigger:
event - a unit finishes training
condition - (item-type of (item carried by (triggering unit) in slot 1)) equal to fingernail of zeus
Collapse action - add lightning proc to (Trained unit)
- add lightning sfx to (trained unit)

Why don't you use the custom Unit Editor, and give them the ability there ?

It's meant to be you have to buy an item, put it into the building's inventory, and the units produced get the ability.

1)Do the units survive if they don't get the abilities?
2)Try to add standard abilities to the units (instead of your customs).
3)I suppose you have allready tried whats happening to a unit which has your abilities from the start (Unit Editor).

And if it seems that the abilities do matter in this case (#2 works) please tell us more about your custom abilities.
