This is the second poem I wrote once I began writing. The first I wrote was a class assignment which I didn't do, so I sketched it up in 5 minutes while the 4 people ahead of me read their poems aloud. When I finished, the whole class was awestruck, and the teacher inspired me to continue writing. My second poem (maybe it was my fourth, I doubt it though), was: Nothing but a Picture A tarnished picture Of your life, it may tone in 't may not Thou normalcy, may never gain Thou woe, may never gain A tarnished picture, is just a picture But if you would like You can compare your life To a tarnished picture, but Keep in your mind, it is nothing but a picture It's still my favorite piece. |

It's better than most I've heard; that much, I can tell you. Honestly though, I'm not much of a poem fan. I really like poems, but if you ask me, "What is the moral of this poem?," I'd shrug and tell you I wouldn't know. I just like the play on the words in each line. X_X I would say more (because parts of the poem I disagree with), but I don't want to rant. I like it, even though I disagree with it. |
