I am working on a 256x256 strategy project. And since i haven't really played many 256x256 maps i thought i ask here. The map is of course 12 players. And there are many ways of transportations. How do you guys feel about those size? |

Just ask - what do larger maps actually add? More time waiting, more lag, less action, normally. |

Well I do think It would be a good Idea. Large maps should be made into Azeroth Wars, Parasite, and well those build your own castle\town. But perhaps you could make hero siege map or a custom hero survival/Custom hero v Custom hero. But I strongly recommend a Parasite because of all the triggers and going on planets and getting into command centers. |

256 is only useful for large RPGs. |

depends on the map. if its one of those risk games make it big and leave room to build. if they're not big newbies have no room at all |

Well the only reason i wanna do the map this big is because i love huge maps like risk/rise of china/Dark ages of warcraft. And those 3 things you mentioned i wanna try and get rid of them. Also i feel that it becomes easier for new players to stand a chance against pros when the map is bigger. Bigger map = more citys. Quote:
What about map like risk/rise of china/dark ages of warcraft? Quote:

What if it would be 160x160? |

That would be much better. 256x256 would make it so boring because had to look for opponents for ages. |

or 192x192. The only thing i think 256x256 is for would be ORPGs |
