Starcraft Turret

Here is the last one i'm going to release with the future version of Marine Assault. Still warcraftish :p
I used for the half of the model the texture from my refinery and barracks and optimized its weight in the map. I didn't add the guy in front of the center of the turret, that could be very weird because the details of the turrets will be more visible and he would be very small ^^

how impressive.
It does look a little short, though. The one in Starcraft was much, much taller.

thats actually pretty dam cool. i like it. is the cockpit artistic license or based on information?

It is a little too low rez tho, the texture needs more love.

Personally not to fond of this missile turret.
It seems rather simplistic in shape.
not to mention the cockpit doesn't really look like a cockpit... shouldn't it be more of a cage type thing that is a tad more open.

also shouldn't the base be a tad larger with a fuel container somewhere...
as it is right now the missile carriers/launchers are too large compared to the cockpit and base.

Fairly boring design actually as well no shape giving it flow or anything.




but I'm just nitpicking.

As i told before, these is not a cockpit before i didn't add the "pilot" and i will not. The turret's details will be more visible than the one in starcraft and a tiny guy inside will look very weird. Mine is automatic.
( i think it's more realistic because a turret piloted by a human doesn't rotate all the day...like a radar)

i never noticed that little guy, thats funny. kinda disappointing though, id always assumed they were automatic and having a guy inside seems kinda of stupid. especially when you look at the scale of things outside of the game. science vessel any one? the pods are kinda bulky though, lots of wasted space. whatever. also, right now it looks like the missiles are attached to the pods, out-lining them in black would fix that.

i too always they were AI controlled, since i think a pilot would get dizzy since the turret revolves 24/7

I updated the shape, just orientate the base, and little modification on proportions :)
