Making Apple Symbol in WE

Introduction
For those who don't know, the Apple (mac) symbol can be used in warcraft with windows by the following way:

-Open Notepad
-Alt-0239, Alt-0128, Alt-0128
-Copy all 3 characters ()
-Paste in warcraft

Problem
I have tried various ways to use this in WorldEdit:
-Game Message strings
-Tooltips
-Unit names
-Player names

None of them work. Does anyone know of a way to make our beloved apple in world edit?

Get someone with a Mac to do it?

Option+Shift+K = 

Good point. Looks like a square to me, so maybe attach a map?

I'll have my Mac tonight, can check it out and get back to you guys tomorrow, if you'd like.

That would be great, thanks. Just see if you can successfully make it in WE to show up normally in-game, and attach a testmap.

Very minor I know, but fun.

The first use I though of for this was in a riddle/puzzle map I was making, where I'd have a tree and apple-floating texts "falling" from it. In another map, I was planning on making a bunch of apples spawn around the map and have players try to collect the most.

You see, on my local server, the apple symbol is something like a legend. People posting it on a channel recieve an immediate 7-day ban.

Wow... And I thought my ideas were strange...

How about using the '@' symbol for your Newtonic apple?

apples dropping off trees and apple gathering looks cute i imagine.

it is a very nice/amusing idea!

'@' won't work, it has to be the real Apple.

Still waiting to see if a mac-user has managed to make it in WE.

. Alt + Shift + K =  as mentioned by Pyro.

Though it shows up as boxes (to me) in the Quick Reply box... mayhaps it's firefox.

Ok, I've done it, made the map, and here's the story:

Doesn't work :(. The  symbol shows up fine in WorldEdit (though not on this forum, apparantly), and can be used in Unit names, tooltips, etc... when you run the game, though, it omits the symbol.

Map is attached, and I've used the symbol:

Name of the footman unit.
On the Defend ability tooltip.
The WE name for the defend ability.

The map title, subtitle, and text loading screen.

The map filename.

The map pre-load description.

Let me know if I can be of any more assistance.

(Once again, works in WorldEdit, but not in the game itself).

Thank you for your efforts. Here are some more things you could try:
-Game Messages
-Interface
-Floating Text
-Player Names (via triggers)
-Extraction from imported SLK

Would be interesting if it works with triggers.

So someone at Blizzard forgot to include ye olde apple when they were coding... Petition them to include it in the next patch?

They'll list it as a "DotA-specific character malfunction on Macs."

We don't want that again, do we?
