Defend/Elune's Grace "Chance To Deflect" Problem?

i am trying to make an ability that would deflect projectiles back to the attacker 100% of the time so i thought i'd use either Defend or Elune's Grace to base it off of but when i try to change the "chance to deflect" value to something higher than "30.00" listed under "Defend"'s properties it resets it down at "10.00", a number below what was originaly there?!

This makes no sense!

I tried Elune's Grace and the Defend (item) abilities as well and they wont let me set it higher than 10.00

What is also odd.. is why does this spell expect whole numbers when other % spells expect adjustments after the decimal point for their % chance. (i.e.; chance to deflect set in Defend is set at 30.00 and not 0.30 as default)


i want this set to 100.00 so it happens all the time and it just wont let me type that in.

What can i do?

Hmm... I'm not familiar with the problem, but I know that holding SHIFT while you enter something in (or is it while you push OK...) sometimes allows you to enter in something that couldn't normally.

I say "sometimes" because I know of situations (i.e. Acid Bomb, curse you!!) where a certain value is hard-coded to appear, and nothing can change it. :/ Not sure if that's the case here; good luck.

Ah well. That's annoying; I was thinking of making a "100% reflect" ability for something as well...

You're supposed to hold shift when you double click on the field, I can modify my defend just fine.

That's weird; I can modify it in the Object Editor to 100, but it doesn't Reflect and kill the attacking ranged units. Isn't it supposed to do that?

Look at the global constants. There's a value there that might affect it.

It probably says something like "Gameplay - Defend can Deflect." Gee, who'd have thunk it?

Oh wait, that's sarcasm!
Wasn't the Spell Breaker suppose to have a Magic Defend to reflect spells? The ability is still in the editor.

Well now wait a second... It's actually there (Gameplay - Defend can Deflect), but it's set to True by default. So why wouldn't it work, if I didn't edit the Constants?...

Weird? Naw, [Shift] overrides most inhibitions...

And it may let you in, but does it actually Deflect 100%?

i don't think defend has ever shot the arrow back at the unit who fired it, it just doesn't do damage, "deflecting" it away. i think that would be reflect any way...
