Face to face the valiant hero, Darian of Murkwood, stood against the creature that haunted his dreams for years and brought fire to his village. Fury red eyes blinked at him while the creatures’ scaled and poised tail made a vast move towards the Heroes heart…

About

1.1 History of the project
For the last months I have been working on a medieval themed map. Originally it was meant to check out some combinations of the medieval theme in the Warcraft III World Editor. To my discovery the Warcraft III engine was an excellent tool to make medieval maps and so I got inspired to continue.

As for a break I lent the Role Playing Game ‘Fable: The Lost Chapters’ from a friend of mine, and got intrigued by the storyline, set up and creativity forged into a single, excellent game. This game, next to ingame footage pictures from Starcraft II, gave me what I needed to get inspired enough to proceed on my map.

As it took me a lot of time to finish the terrain, with summer heading up and making me lose some of my time on other games and out door events, I found myself at the end of the summer break working harder on the map than ever before.

1.2 Ingame Gameplay

1.2.1 Quests
When you start your career as a Hero, you will have nothing on you except for a letter. This letter is your first quest for the storyline into the realm of Degodar. Next to the mainquestline it is possible to follow optional quests which are scattered around the realm, asking you to defend a mill from thief attacks in a certain amount of time to do the opposite and raid a mill for the thieves to plunder it.

1.2.2 The Hero Class System
As you progress to the game you will gather experiance, gain levels and get the opportunity to [thumbnail]specialise[/thumbnail] yourself in a certain class. There are 3 so called "spellshops", located in the guarden of Aventura.

- Aura of the Titan (Warrior specialisation)
- Aura of the Swift (Assassin specialisation)
- Aura of the Magister (Wizard specialisation)

It will be possible to buy spells from all the shops, but you only got 5 spellslots and it would be unwise for further progress in the game to not specialise yourself into a certain group if you want to get the full potential out of 1 of the 3 classes.

1.2.3 Camera System
As for now AHP: LotD will support the standart camera system [thumbnail]only[/thumbnail], but in the feature this cameraview might be added with a third person view camera.

1.2.4 Item system
You will be able to wear multiple pieces of armor that will be directly visible onto your character. These items consist out of Weapons, Hats, Shoulderpads and Shields.

There will also be merchants known under the same faction name: The Merchants Guild. These merchants can sell you all kinds of items, but most times basic items to give you a head start for your adventure. For the unique, powerfull and very class-supportive items you need to go out and quest!

Summary
A Heroes Path: Legend of the Dragonlord is a RPG that takes place in the medieval years of Degodar, a proud nation that, however, passed it’s golden age long ago. As the people of Aventura, Capital City of Degodar, slowly built their lives back up after a long lasting conflict known as the War of the Crowns, a new threat reaches the rumours of many, a rumour based on a legend that was never to be expected to come real, since it was an old and forgotten legend… the Legend of the Dragonlord.

To prevent a new war, which would surely devastate Degodar and leave it’s borders unguarded for savages and wildermen to come and bring chaos to the land, a group of wise councilman, lead by Solan the Grand Wizard, selected a group of talented younglings that were foreseen to bring peace and justice to it.

Features
x One common enemy
x 4 players
x A max. level of 25
x Spell shops that let you give yourself the opportunity to specialise yourself
x Custom items and units
x A main quest line with optional quests shattered over the land
x Merchants that will sell you equipable gear that directly shows off on your character
x A new resourcement called Hero Ability Points that will only grow by leveling and is required to buy spells!
x And much, much more…

This included only pictures that gives you a perspective on the map and it’s nature.

A Heroes path: Legend of the Dragonlord is originally ment for online RPG only. Singleplayer possibilities are limited possible since at certain points it will get tough to solo certain quests.

The releasedate for A Heroes Path: Legend of the Dragonlord is: it's done when it's done. Like you can read above, I'm currently bussy with the Object Editor and after that I will most likely need people to aid me with triggering.

The questline for APH: LotD is not yet written, though it will be when the object editor part is fully finished. Quests will variate from killing simple creeps to collect items to defend regions from waves of attacks.

I cannot yet tell much more about the quests, since I will most likely need 2 in my eyes exceptional good trigger people that can make my prewritten quests get live and shining, next to other triggers, with the least leaking as possible.

I'm guessing singleplayer/multiplayer.

On the map itself, I really like the terrain. I hope the variety in quests are good so that this map will be fantastic overall.

To me it seems strange that a wooden wall suddenly evolves into a tower. (Talking about last picture)
