I love this kind of map but sadly I haven't seen well-made maps for this genre. It's easy to understand and play but very fun. Try to guess who is a murderer or try to cover your murder and lure players to kill a innocent is very fun. If you haven't played this kind you may try "Murder at the Panda Mansion". It's not the best for murder genre but it's still good. However I tried to make this one but ended up lazy to make scary looking terrain. Question : Do you like this genre? or Do you have another murder maps to introduce to me? |

I haven't seen well-made maps for many genres. |

I love this genre, in fact I was engineering a map for this genre but I lost my inspiration at 2%. It's an AWESOME, MAGNIFICENT genre when done right but nowadays it's just model shifts of the same crappy template. So yeah, just don't suck it up when you do it and try to make it unique. |

Hated it. Dark Deeds, however, does slightly fit into this category, and that's a map I love. |

It's bad on average with the maps I have seen, but good if well-done I'm assuming. |

The way I see those map is as follows: You run around for 5 minutes, get killed by something you can't see and respawn instantly. Then they kill you again and everybody says "dont kill him again evil we'll know who it is then"... and how the heck do you figure out who it is from that? |

This has almost inspired me to reenter mapping just to make a murder map, make it awesome and solve that problem... though I'm still too lazy. I love this genre, I love tweaking with it. |

:D excellent. I recently made a hybrid of this, where all player messages were hidden and the only way to talk was floating texts, was cool. Had zombies. |

You've inspired me to make another map (rulerofiron99 and BestZero) and hopefully it'll get past the pre-pre-pre-pre-pre-pre-pre-pre-alpha stage unlike most of my maps. |

Murder maps fail on B.net. Besides sucking, the players LOVE messing it up; either by spoiling who the murderer is or just running around killing people shouting LOLZ UR DA MURDIR |

I thought this site encouraged "make maps that YOU will be happy with" not shoot down maps that people love to play but haven't been able to surpass DotA The Slayer of Worlds... |

Tide, if you can manage to make it better than the current crap that goes around, I'd be very interested to do testing and help with ideas and stuff. |

My idea for murder map Start with 11 players they visit the haunted mansion for plundering propose. That mansion belongs to murderer. Murderer is one of them in 11 players ofc. When they enter indoor, the gate locks and they are stuck in that mansion. They will find the way to exit but too bad some of them begin to be killed... That's part of the storyline, It may be not great because I pay attention on gameplay. Murderer : has the power to transform itself to madness murderer and ordinary guy by the result of his ritual of magick. His abilities will be Wind Walk, Summon Ghouls, Slash. Wind Walk to stealthy get close, Summon Ghouls to anti player to stick together all the time, Slash will instantly kill at close range. Players : They must find clue who is the murderer and use some tricks to lure murderer to reveal himself (haven't thought for that tricks yet) Objective : The mansion will have clues hidden in random place. Clues will tell who the owner of mansion is. That clue may slightly tell who is the murderer. |

Ever played the game Mafia? There's around twelve players, although it can vary. Obout one third of them, rounded downwards, play as the Mafia, and must kill people. One player is the Investigator, and can periodically ask if someone are the Mafia, while Villagers get killed. You could try to adapt this. The Mafia are normal people, so they have to work together to get someone killed, and the Investigator can use an ability to check if someone are the Mafia or not (Single Target, long cooldown.) Then everyone tries to fool everyone into following their orders without realizing who are who. It's a mightily funny game, and mix of Mafia and Murder would probably be excellent. |
