Noob BLPaletter Question

Hey all. I am planning on importing jigrael's Demon Knight model, found here: http://www.wc3campaigns.net/showthread.php?t=87660 , into my map.

I am making sure I get the file sizes down, so I am using BLPaletter to make sure that the texture included with the model is paletted blp instead of jpg blp.

Can anyone tell me how to determine which quality I should ask for for that texture? And then for textures in general?

Bonus MDX Squisher Question: Do you recommend squishing portrait models too? Or should I leave those alone?

I use BLPTools for Mac and I generally leave quality at 50-65% for icons (honestly, you can't actually tell the difference between 60 and 80%) and for skins I generally go for 65% to 75%

From what I've heard, squishing portrait models makes them ugly but just experiment - that's how we find out a lot of these things.

The default setting of 256 is usually a good idea for unit textures.

Unit textures can use very low quality (30-40%) but portraits will suffer greatly. Just move the slider in whatever tool you like until you get the best face details/file size.
