Well, if your talking about a new map idea that would be wrong. First of all im outlining a plan for my map here which due to some issues, I had to take the "shotgun to the back of the skull" route and kill it. And from the ashes will arise something greater. I dont have as much free time as I used to so progress might be sluggish. Although from the people that played the last map, they said it was awsome except for the lag part (And the footies mode that was the only one completed, I did not experiance lag, but apparantly it was mild to severe for some people. All in all the map was good, but was a stunted 'Abomination' of GUI and JASS spells since I cant code, I'm SLOWLY learning). So rather than route through the mire and try to find the problems that I have no idea what they are (Some of my newer imported spells that I actually made would not work for some retarded reason that was beyond me, and I KNOW I imported them correctly) Anyways, enough blabber I will get to the outline for my plan, and if this be in the wrong section, by the power of the mods move it. AoS, Frenzy, and Arena maps are widley played. At first I fused these elements into a map type, but most people did not 'grasp the concept'. Then I scrapped this and tried to make it into a 3 choice map between those 3 styles, and thats when I realized that the map was 'an Abomination' like I mentioned above. So im starting fresh with an AoS focus with elements from hero arenas and frenzy maps. Basic- This would be your fairly standard AoS, except each person has the ability to influence what spawns they make by upgrading thier 'home', adding an extra level of stratagy to this. At First I wanted to have 6 people on each team, but after thinking about it, I dont think it would have been possible from a few perspectives that I had. I wish to include the ability for the players on the team to upgrade the tower defences (upgrade a regular tower to say, a cannon or frost tower). Other things would be mercenary units controlled by an AI, say a merc hero for example (e.g. a raven from Armoured core). I also want to add random events like double damage, double regen, spontaneous refillment of mana/health, random castings of regular spells for all units (e.g. all heroes get a rejuvination/bloodlust/slow/silence cast on them). other things could include a random 'boss' creep, or ravenous mob swarm spawning and then proceeding to wreak havok. Basically I want the potential for as much 'mayhem' as possible to take place. ---Heroes--- My origional selection for heroes, Items and units was a theme oriented for mass media- Characters from Games, Comics, Anime, and some Movies. I did not have things like swords or anything instead something more abstract like orbs and that as they are already essentially 'equipped' with their gear. Unfortunatley, with my coding skills I will not be able to do most of them justice unless I get some trigger help (Heck, help is an overstatement, with my triggering skills all I will be able to do is modify stuff like in the last version so you will probably be writing them, and if thats the case I will mention you as one of the creators if you have written enough and want me to, I will always give credit). As for custom skins... I doubt I will use any as they eat up alot of space On another note, I would need some opinions on this, but I dont know if I should have 4 or 5 skills for the heroes as I also want to include 'limit breaks' (Special attacks that are added to your hero for a one use only thing when your damage recieved is equal to 2x your max hp... possibly more, it depends). It was a challange for me last map to think of 5 abilities for some of them, and if I had no ideas it would be something lame like a passive, and If I add limit breaks it will make this harder unless I am able to make a limit break a completley over the top regular ability that i make up- thats why I need a second opinion on ability amounts, lol... Or get suggestions from people). Another thought that could be applied to the 4 or 5 ability idea could be an 'innate' ability, basically a free skill, something passive or that helps define the hero- a brilliance aura, a berserk mode, or a passive ability (e.g. 10% magic resistance), these could be some of the more 'bland' abilities that they could have. I wish to achieve a map with as many flashy over the top spells that dont leak as possible. Heroes at the start- Video Games- Mario, Samus, Mewtwo, Captian Falcon, Master Cheif, Diablo, Arthas, Jaina, Thrall, Maiev, Sephiroth, Kefka, Auron, Nightmare, Megaman, Meta Knight, Sub Zero Anime- Ichigo, Byakuya, Grimjow (Yes im somewhat of a bleach fanboy -.-), Naruto, Goku, Edward Elric Comics- Spider Man, Batman, Magneto, Hulk, Blackheart Other- Chuck Norris, Bruce Lee, Darth Vader, On Abilities- I plan on placing more emphesis on abilities rather than repeatedly bashing eachothers brains out with normal attacks. I have a few ideas for builds that could be effected by numerous things. The main thing I want to use to scale abilities is mana cost, an ult could be 3-5 times the mana cost of a regular ability. A regular ability could be cost 80 mana with a 4 sec cooldown, while an ult would be like 200 mana with a 15-30 sec cooldown. It depends with the hero. On Items- All items that boost stats are more abstract things like marks, spheres, or orbs. I dont want to focus on the stats as I have noticed for many AoS is that there are very few abilities that come in handy aside from stat boosters late game, and it devolved into whoever has the best stats and the best passives. Most items will grant the use of an ability, weather for manacost, or a number of charges. Items include things like shotguns, grenades, rocket launchers, spellbooks, scrolls, sheep, and the holy hand grenade of antioch. |

Yeh, I Guess your right, lol. I will keep the random bosses and stuff. Im also thinking of adding 'dungeons' and stuff like creeps, and a network of tunnels, so you can inflintrate enemy areas. I might make the size a bit bigger to accomodate this. I might also add a few 'hidey holes' where you can escape or ambush people, but I dont know how good of an idea that is. Also pyrogasm, what do you think is the better spell number idea? the 4 or 5 spell ones? Should I have the limit break thing? Should I also add a bonus innate ability? |

Not reading through EVERYTHING right now, however, hidey holes you mentioned is a good idea as long as there are pathways or something so you go into one cave and you can go into another, not too far to make sure you can't escape so easily of course. Also, "random mayhem" as Pyrogasm started on is a good IDEA, like random bosses and such, but make sure it isn't biased like if you do a random "silence" effect then make sure warrior and mage heroes are balanced somewhat, are mages would be ripped to shreds. |

lol. Thanks for the ideas, but Im not to well versed in most anime aside from BLEACH, FLCL (would be somewhat diffucult to incorperate), Great Teacher Onizuka (Probably going to be a support hero with auras and buffs), Excel Saga (Probably going to make Illpalazo the hero with hyatte and excel as summonables, im planning on using the independant summons system), Cowboy bebop (Lax for ideas right now, lol), Full metal panic (Cant find fitting skills, so they would probably have to be mercenary heroes controlled by AI like a bunch of ravens that I would like to include from armoured core, Nine Ball would be the only playable raven, and the Pulveriser would be a random 5 tier boss). However for suggestions like that It would be greatly appreciated if you could post a list of moves and how they think you can play, as I regrettably dont have the spare time to watch all that anime. Heck if you wanted to build the heroes and send me them I would list you as thier creator, and mabye make you an in game boss with a relic item or something (as in they buy a charged item that allows them to fight a boss once). ALSO THE MOST IMPORTANT THING I NEED FEEDBACK FOR RIGHT NOW IS THE ABILITY LIMIT! SHOULD I USE 5 OR 4 ABILITES? SHOULD I USE LIMIT BREAKS? SHOULD I ADD AN INNATE ABILITY THATS ALREADY ON THE HERO WITHOUT HAVING TO LEARN SKILLS (E.g Magic resistance, a passive brilliance aura, hardened skin, ect) |
