Basically just trying out a tutorial I found. And matching the skin tone to my vampire Demon Hunter since the first was too white. EDIT: Crap, image re-uploaded. |

Well..the face looks good so far... That's all I can say really :P |

Shading with black sucks, seriously. Use darker flesh tones instead, it'll improve the quality tenfold. Also, those lips are titanic, they could probably use to be shrunk a bit. |

More progress, I'll change the black shading later. Oh, and reference. ![]() |

Ugh, it's really being ruined by the black shading, man. The mustache is practically indistinguishable. I like the teeth, though. Nice touch. |

I don't really like the mustache and the pupils. The pupils make it look less vampiric to me. |

I'd say make that bottom lip smaller And as Dusk said, enough black shading That mustache makes his face look like it should be in one of those sticker books |

Suggestions on how I could do the moustache? EDIT: Finished his hair, made it black and made some of the cape. The bright red serpent on the bottom is team colour. Crits would be appreciated. |

Cape's turning out awesome. I recommend a trim of a contrasting color, otherwise it won't show up very strongly in-game. Quote:
And hey, did you consider the proudmoore model for this? He's already got the 'stache and the hat your reference does, just has a few portrait wrap battles to overcome. Definitely consider it, though. |

Well, I chose the arthas model because I had wanted to do some awesome alpha jobs on Frostmourne. I'll think about it though. Oh, and what colour should the trim be? Team Colour trim? :P |

Depends upon what color schemes you had planned for his armor sections, but something shiny is my guess. Is the rest of the cape TC already, or just the dragon emblem? |

Just the dragon, I wanted it to stand out. And I haven't really thought of armour, there's no proper full-body shots of Vlad :( EDIT: Tried the team-coloured trim. |

Yeah, I think something shiny is definitely the way to go then. Check out how standard Arthas' cape looks, you'll see what I mean. I say try gold. Also, that reference picture you have above does show the upper chest, so you can always come up with something from that. |

First of all, you should shade under the scarf thing on his cape more. Right now it looks plastered onto the cape, whereas you want it to give the impression of having some depth. Secondly, you're not really taking advantage of what the model offers you in the front. See that gigantic belt buckle thing that you just sort of washed over with some colors? That looks awful right now. Give the man some kind of cool belt buckle of gold, that way it'll tie the shoulders to the boots and not make it feel so random. Speaking of the boots, they could probably use a cooler knee design (also, currently the pants' color is bleeding into them, probably want to fix that). I say make it something like a goat skull, or some emblem, something to suggest him being regal or deathly, since those are the two archetypes he's being textured to. Remember to choose colors for different parts of the texture to tie the skin as a whole together. Every part of the texture can't be a different color or it won't look right. Like it will be important for the bracers on his arms to be the same color as his boots and belt, otherwise they'll feel too out of place. Also, I think the chest wrap is just weird, or that may merely be the pose, but try to get his chest looking symmetrical. Also, don't be afraid to super highlight metal to make it look metallic. Your boots could possibly use a little more of that. |
