There is no some fine RPG maps for a long time...

Did the RPG maps just died out of TFT, and everyone go to make dota-like maps?

RPG was never really popular, they were just phases... and AoS are/were/(whatever) only common because they had both templates and ease of production.

RPGs have been, and always will be, popular.

Just not with the masses.

Define what you are thinking of with RPG. This Wreckage is just Awesome and Win on a plate (and a nice long plate).

RPGs are typically designed shoddily, so they end up being terrible. I don't design RPG maps because I far prefer multiplayer, dynamic combat sequences. (You know, the stuff that doesn't happen in true RPGs) I'm sure they're out there to play if you look hard enough, though.

Play RDZ' This Wreckage. The best RPG so far.
@ Dusky, I don't know if you know it, but you created an RPG.

I also stopped creating it for a reason. (And OD isn't an RPG, if that's what you're referring to)

Okay, ORPG then.

OD is a dungeon crawler, which is as much an "RPG" map as the melee game of WC3 is. Which is to say it really isn't at all, since the direction of the map is violently different from an RPG's goal.

Anyways, that's kind of not the point of this topic. :)

The RPG genre for TFT has it's ups and downs. I'm making one currently... but when I finish, I don't plan on any release (I'll kill the idiot who leaks it though). To be honest, not everyone likes their maps played by everyone. And, considering how easy it is to get through map protection and save codes, there's really no point in the RPG if you've spoiled yourself by getting everything.

I also know enough that there are hacked versions of RPGs that come out that are there specifically to get all of the best equipment, stats, etc. It's what I'm afraid of, so I'm not publicly releasing mine. Some people might say, "Who the hell cares about whether someone hacks your map." I do, I care. It's like me building a 100 story building for you to climb, and all you did was take an elevator to the top, after years of my hard work. That's how it feels like.

elevators are often slow

Even then, it doesn't take an elevator years to reach the top of a 100-story buildling.

That's still being worked on? I thought it went to that gray area of "still being worked on but you'll never see anything more". Last time I tried the page links didn't work and stuff.

Anyways great map. Would love to play more.
