Redoing wc3 melee (normal games)

Hello!

I am currently redoing wc3 melee.

I am not doing anything drastic, I am not adding new like models, skins, new units or anything. So don't get that idea.

This new game would have the following changes:
  • Heroes will be limited to 1 (from 3) and will only be available at T3.
  • Units will be cheaper (not by too much, I am thinking footman will cost 105)
  • Increasing food count to 200
  • Removing the majority of creeps in maps (at BEST orange creeps at gold mines)
  • Racial stores (e.g: Arcane Vault) will function differently. Activated abilities that will replicate items bought around the arcane vault (for example: buying a clarity potion will give the clarity effect to all units with manapools around the shop.)

These changes are aiming for balance for all races vs all races and for the game to be more macro oriented without losing its micro intensive battles.

This is all I can think of for features. I am posting this to:
  • Publicize and to get general opinion

and to get some shock laughs and criticism.

No I do not know much about editor and I have to balance this as well as possible. I don't really want to be distracted by learning the basics of editor.

Sorry, but that's the kind of thing you'll want to know if you want to do anything at all in the war3 editor...

So... you expect a guy do all your job and you only say yai or nai... man... that's not the way here.

All I can say is that you won't need learning enough stuff to achieve that, basically object editor (for not saying only this), so learning this basic knowledge definitely won't distract you in your balance process.

Alright well, disregard the ask for help thing then. Ill get everything on paper before I work on the WE.

Very low goals and low aims for making a wc3mod. It's very far from good idea. Try to think of better ideas to make it more awesome.


Here's one example:

I made a melee mod for quite some time ago, which involves normal units to be promoted to special units which grow stronger as it kills more enemies. (Leveling sort of). Having survivors and veteran units though the game is a great advantage in this example.

But it's not uploaded anywhere and that was before I had internet. Only played it in a single lan game back then and abandoned it since then...

Hey retard(ed archer, hehehe) Topic Creator, I would totally do that. Make Wc3 a bit more like Red Alert or C+C, with weaker units that can gain veterancy for kills.

Otherwise, you're idea sounds interesting, but in need of refinement. As well as an injection of solid Awexome.
