What do you mean by thick?

From what i see i think what you mean is how to sink the ground.

Use the Terrain editor "Lower tool".

LMFAO... that's not a terrain deformation of any sort, that's just the map boundaries...

That black partition is not the thickness of the terrain; that is, a spread along the Z-axis... It an extension of the terrain along the XY plane... If you move the camera around a bit about that angle of inspection, the you will see it change in apparent magnitude - the magnitude of it on your monitor - and you will realize that it is nothing of Z-extension (and so, not a 'thickness')...

You cannot extend terrain along the Z-axis in WC3; not even with cliffs - as cliffs are only an offset of where the terrain occurs along the Z-axis (not an extension).

If you want to make 'thick terrain', make a walkable doodad and extend it along the Z-axis.
