1) Extract UI\WorldEditData.txt 2) There should be a row called "Default Map Size", change it to ANY size that is a multiple of 32. 3) Add it back to war3.mpq. 4) Open up World Editor, and enjoy a nice drink of a huge map. |

Actually, you can even do it with normal WE :). All you have to do is extract UI\WorldEditData.txt from the mpq using one of the mpq editors from the download section, open it up in notepad, and find the values below: [WorldEditMisc] CampAcquireRadius=200 DropTableIndicatorScale=0.25 DropTableIndicatorHeight=10 MouseWheelZoomFactor=1.10 DefaultMapSize=64,64 MinimumMapSize=64 MaximumMapSize=256 HelpFile=support\Layout\Index2.html DefaultDoodadCategory=D ClickHelperScale=0.4 The highlighted parts are the parts you need to change. The highest values you can put in are 480 x 480, don't try and go over that limit. Also note that the large map size will slow things down somewhat, but that's up to you. Try to keep the values to multiples of 32, you can create maps that aren't, but it's a better dea not to. Make sure the file is in the right place in your warcraft directory, something along the lines of C:\Warcraft3\UI\WorldEditData.txt - just make sure it's in a folder called UI (you may have to create a new folder) in your warcraft 3 directory (wherever it is on your hard drive). Now load up WE / UMS WE whatever editor you use and you have your giant map. Once you've got your map created, you can save it and change the values back to normal if you want. |
