Ok, so, my name is Deolrin, i was a member of the Hive but i got banned(i was Debode if someone remembers me), im a modeler and i am currently working on a model. My problem is that i don't know a thing about particles and i usually CnP them from other models(from WC3 not custom). Now, i need to make my model have a Jetpack and an Cannon, and i need:
  • A way to make particles go from up to down(Jetpack)
  • A Technique to make some real-looking fire particles(Jetpack)
  • A way to make an Cannon Impact smoke particle(Cannon doh..)

~OR INSTEAD THE SECOND THING~
  • A way to make some other good looking particles for the jetpack, as the model itself is going to be something space-related(can't give too much details now, but a hint; it is green, and it is NOT an orc )

Any "particler" could please help me? I will give some shiny +Rep and creds in the model.

NOTE: I know i got a "little" inspired by General's Space Orc Agent for the jetpack(and for anims-PRE UPLOAD HINT), but i hope he won't care, and i will give him special thanks in my model.

Regards, Deolrin~

If you want to make the particles go down, you simply give a negative gravity value.

As far as 'real-looking', then you need a better fire particle texture rather than any arbitrary particle skills.

I just mean that it would actually look like fire and not Red poison gas as my Particles usually look T_T

Textures\Clouds8x8Fire.blp is always a good place to start. Remember that fire is more orange/yellow than red. Look at real fire, look at in-game fire emitters you're interested in.

Yea. the problem is, i have no idea at how to do particles =\

For example, i have no idea what does "Emitter Rate" means and this... So all i ask is so someone either teach me those stuff(if he is very nice), or just do that particle for me so i can CnP that(with credits-this will be even better than the "teach me" thing)...

Find a tutorial, then.

http://www.wc3campaigns.net/showthread.php?t=99880 contains a Particle Emitters section.
