Hi, I have a problem with exported animations. Actually, several problems. First, I'm using 3ds Max 9 since I don't have access to 4 or 5, so I depend on the Dexporter and Impexpmdx. Well, I created an animation to test whether the export would work correctly, and it didn't. In Max, everything looks fine, but the War3ModelEditor does not show me what I expected at all. It seems as if the vertex weights were screwed up during the export and there's one rotation of a foot I definitely did not create like this. The impexpmdx script doesn't work at all for me. I'm able to export the static model alone, but as soon as I added notes for the animations in the curve editor, the War3ModelEditor crashed when trying to open the file, although the export itself was succesful. When I additionally selected the bones to export, the script stopped with an exception: Runtime Error: Mesh has no TVFaces. I tried the standard controllers as well as TCPs and nothing worked out. Help would be greatly appreciated. |

It isn't exactly a fix, I went through the codes again and I just discovered that it's still pretty much screwed. DEX converts all the bone origins to 0. I think unless you tinker further with the DEX script, your next best choice would be to use Milkshape to animate. (: Here's some screenshots of what happens to my bones in 3ds max 9 after being converted using DEX script. So I guess you can only use DEX to export the static model for now. |

Thanks, that's was caused it - but your fix does indeed not solve my problem completely. Regardless, thank you. As far as I know, Milkshape isn't free, is it? I don't feel like purchasing and learning another software :/ |
