I've decided to post this before orc campaigns become unoriginal... The Kal'Theon Trilogy This campaign stars my own orcs, not WC 3 orcs. They do however, encounter annoying demons which hints to the Original WC 3 Story. Chapter 1 I developed this chapter about a year ago. I was working on the idea but decided to discontinue it but since my mapping abilities have increased since then, I've made this A project I'd like to complete. This Chapter unfolds the story and introduces the Snow Orcs to you. You take the role of a wolf riding warrior who leads a large tribe alliance of Snow Orcs with the help of a shaman. The campaign is Rexxar style and is played across 3 maps; Kal'Theon Peak, a large mountain that continues to rise and is home to many beasts. Carrind Mines, an abandoned Dwarven mine that had been routed by a spider colony but is currently empty. Deradn Marsh is home to an assortment of strange beasts and trolls and lies at the foot of The Kal'Theon Peak. You start within the Peak's map and constantly make trips between Deradn and Carrind performing quests and discovering the approach of demons. Each hero has a host of skills that are unique and useful in this campaign. JASS skills would be nice, but I wouldn't want to complicate it for myself. The campaign starts off with you at the highest point in Kal'Theon, the edge of the map. You venture lower until you have a cinematic encounter with rival orcs. You then witness the strength of your hero when you combat 2-3 units by yourself. You venture back to your tribe's village and speak with the shaman. The shaman speculates an unknown force has began to approach their world, you however choose not to believe your friend yet. You then go on the annual hunt as a side quest with your trainee wolf riders. During the hunt, they encounter a pack of demons which alarms you. You then decide to return to your village which has now went up in flames at the hand of your rivals. You attempt to save the village and witness what these possible demons have done to your rivals. You descend into Deradn Marsh and go on a search for a witch doctor within the swamp. After speaking to him, he speaks of a great demonic force that shall overtake the land and destroy them all. It is up to you to prevent this unknown demonic legion from taking over Kal'Theon Peak and ultimately preventing them from reaching the rest of the world. A series of battles and encounters progress as you learn more and more about the demons. A collection of side quests and secrets arise to help in assisting you with fighting these demons. At the end of this chapter, the leader of your rivals is dramatically killed and the demons approach halts for the time being. Chapter 2 Your rival has possessed the spider colony within the Carrind Mines with the help of the demons. You blockade the paths leading down from Kal'Theon and head off to Carrind Mines to destroy this growing problem. The Carrind Mines, unlike chapter 1, is spread out along 3 maps. Your Shaman friend goes deeper into the mines as long as he can and when passing a dam within the cave, it shatters blocking off the Shaman's soldiers from your own. You travel deeper yourself to defeat your foes and have a final battle with your rival but ultimately your are unable to kill the demons. A collection of side quests and bonus quests occur in this chapter including the possibility of descending to the desert that lies on the outskirts of Deradn Marsh. Chapter 3 With the fall of the snow orcs in Kal'Theon, your apprentice takes the role of leading the snow orcs to glory once more. As you leave Kal'Theon which looks nothing like it did, you encounter the Shaman from Chapters 1 and 2. When you traverse through Deradn Marsh which is horribly disfigured from what you have originally seen, you find the Troll Witch Doctor on your way out and you tell if of your current situation and he speaks of obelisks that are capable of reversing time or restoring the dead. You then head to the desert for an encounter with demons and the introduction one of the most persistent foes ever. You fight a ex mountain king general and his daughter with the help of exiles who make up a portion of your First and Second Tier who have named themselves Dragoons. After destroying them, the second daughter who came just in time to witness the slaughter holds an enourmous grudge and pursues the orcs. You then have your third level in the desert area with constant raids from the daughter. You then enter a forest that has already begun to succumb to the demons from Kal'Theon Peak. Thinking you have lost the daughter, you slowly progress through the forest meeting a band of elves who are willing to help get you through the forest. You fight off the plagued critters as you encounter them and meet more and more of your human exiles, the Dragoons that help you with their useful flying units. You use them and the elves to navigate the winding forest until you reach the center of the forest the level ends. The level begins with you seeing the daughter of the mountain king speaking with a demon. He is the supposed leader of the demons who have entered the world to destroy it. She then is bound by the demon and heads off to fulfill her desire to quench her vengeance. You then see yourself speaking with the leader of the pack of elves you encounter. You then see a couple meteors descend and some critters run and the forest begins to burn a long with the arrival of demons. You must now continue the level with a time limit and a flame demon on your tail. You are constantly cut off by demons and must destroy them upon sight or use your elves and flying units to navigate hidden paths and use your character's skill to successfully survive. You escape the forest, speak awhile and the elves mourn over the loss of their forest. They advise you of a nearby chain of markets that are main trade routes that might have the information about the obelisks the orcs seek. Weeks Pass. You've visited many towns, cities, bazaars and have discovered a supposed location. A distant tomb off the coast of one of the market places ports is home to a 'obelisk'. Taking any chance he gets, he he heads off to the tomb without the help of his human allies. You reach the tomb which is spread out along 4 levels. The first level, you encounter a band of naga who had created the tomb as an idol to their gods. You must break through their lines with an assortment of bases and units. The second level is actually FINDING the tomb. Similar to diablo II where you must find Tal'Rashas tomb. Might decide to randomize which tomb is correct. The Third level is breaching the tomb and encountering the daughter once more and her new legion of demons. You descend deeper and deeper until the level ends. The final level(Which has parts A, B, and C) of the story ends with a bang. Your group is quickly split in half and your perspective is quickly switched to the human exiles who actually decided to follow you to the island. You must then defend the tomb entrance for 15-30 Minutes or destroy the naga camps which is not advised. After defending the entrance, Part B starts immediately after the group is split at the view of the shaman. You continue through a stranger more 'gothic' tomb that appears more demonic. You continue to descend until you reach a 'dead' end for the shaman. Part C begins with you as soon as the group splits. The tomb retains it's original colors and shapes but it is overrun by demons but there is no sight of the daughter. After traveling deeper and deeper, you find the obelisk. The Story of the game ends and the cinematic plays. The obelisk beckons for you to come closer and as you approach the daughter sprints in and touches the obelisk. The demonic effects on her are reversed and she is knocked out. The obelisk starts to crumble and you are shocked nonononno. A rift opens and the demonic leader enters the scene. Then you fight for awhile and it flashes to the exiles who are struggling to hold off the naga and then to the shaman who is slowly beginning to die. As you battle you start losing. It then shows all your other allies who are also losing. As the battle reaches the climax, the tides turn. You and the daughter start an epic cinematic battle with the demon and it flashes to the exiles who receive reinforcements and the shaman who is sadly, not looking too good... The battle progresses and luckily, you win. The battle takes it toll, the shaman is dead and many others. You and the daughter become allies and the rest of the game becomes Rexxar campaign with a side story and fun side quests that allow you to revisit areas Rexxar style via zeppelin. You can revisit the scarred Kal'Theon Peak, Deradn Marsh, The Desert Region, The Scarred Forest(Which is what I'll probably name is after it's destroyed), those cities you never get to see that you visit between the forest level and the island levels and another chain of islands for some side quests. Lore The Orcs: The people you play as are not 'Green' orcs, they are SNOW orcs and in my eyes, they don't have that green thing going. They have a more human skin color. They are shamanistic like their WC cousins and there are obvious similarities seen between them. The Demons: A unknown legion of demons that have never been seen until they arrive at Kal'Theon Peak. They seek to destroy and destroy alone. The demons seem crazy enough to slay each other if there is nothing left to destroy. The Exiles: A pack of unknown humans. You don't know why they're exiled whether it was their religion or their way of life it's unknown. They resemble elves and humans. The Human Armies: A band of humans similar to Admiral Proudmoore story. They have had encounters with 'Green' orcs and some former rivals of your snow orc tribes. They are stuck up and only trust other humans. The Naga: Similar to WC Naga but they were not elves and they don't worship Azhara the fat octopus woman > <. They are like the religions that are spoken of in the old testament. Most of the Naga Tribes are divided by the idols they worship. The Creeps: My creeps are an assortment of WC Creeps and creeps I have renamed. Gnoblars, Demons, and normal animals are the common creeps including undead but very rarely. Gnoblars are my equivalent of gnoll goblins. Heroes Each hero has their own purpose to suit the campaign. You first hero is a raider and very melee. He has very little access to magic. He is accompanied by a shaman but he is rarely used until chapter 2. Chapter 2, the heroes skills increase in power for the shaman to suit his uses. In Chapter 3 you gain access to the Daughter, the new protagonist, the revamped shaman(until the last level), an elven mage for 2 levels, the human exile for some levels and for some regions after beating the game. Each hero counterbalances the faults of your main heroes and they utilize the skills that make the level much much easier. ie: The elven hero has far sight which helps you see hidden paths to navigate around demons during the flaming forest level and the level before. ie: The shaman has a flame strike/lightning bolt that burns down trees. Comments would be great and any changes you'd like to see or suggestions will be praised : 3 There is a lot of campaigns being made so I wanted one of my oldddd campaigns to be seen before the ideas are used... Sadly an orc campaign already got posted! |
