Ideas for a Banshee-like hero?

Hi guys,
do you have some nice ideas for a banshee hero?
I'm using the Ghost/Sylvanas skin but I figured out only bad skill ideas

P.S. I need also a lv. 6 spell for a Troll hero (agility hero, ranger style with lot of damage and speed). Thanks!

Naw, but seriously. While I'm not "teh best", here's my take on it (from what I've learned so far).

~Your hero abilities must follow both a Theme and a Role~
Let me explain:
Usually, it's easy to come up with Thematic abilities. Banshee hero? Alright, AoE Possession (Haunt*), AoE Curse (Wailing Scream), Passive (up-to-3) Permanent Charm (Mastermind from Red Alert 2: Yuri's Revenge), AoE "Keep Corpses from Decaying + Debuff nearby enemies" (Wail of the Dirge*), and all sorts of stuff like this.
However, if that's all you do, you've phailed 1/2 of your work.

The other (and, some might argue, more important) half is to make it fit the hero's Role. Which would imply that you have a specific role for your hero. A Role can be something like "Melee-range Front-line warrior, speedy and quick, with debuffs/damage spells", or as simple as "Blitzkrieger: power rusher that quickly burns out". Can you name these?
- Melee warrior w/ defensive + supportive (healing) spells (Paladin)
- Powerful caster w/ heavy emphasis on ranged icy damage (Lich)
- Ranged, Ranged support + Damage (Priestess of the Moon).
(Usually, this "role" description lies in the hero's tooltip. But anyway.)

So, like in this case, there's a wide variety of things you can do. You could make a "glass cannon" caster (a very fragile, but very powerful, mage), you could make a ranged (Agi) supporter with Debuffs (thinking of Curse), you could make a "mastermind" hero that controls + disrupts enemies (thinking of Possession, + some "disruptor" skills)... Heck, you could even make it a front-line Warrior w/ damage Debuff/Control spells!

Finally, depending on your project, the Role and Theme need to fit other hero's (only if you're making, like, a race or something). Make sure the Roles don't overlap (too much), and that they all follow the same general theme (because they're all in the same race). But don't forget to take the race's "general" Theme and branch it off (in unique directions) for each hero.

So come up with a solid Role, finalize the Theme (you've already got most of it there with "Banshee hero"), and we can help you brainstorm some abilities. Or give you feedback on yours.

Trolls.... Hmm, some might say I know a bit about Trolls... :P

I like what you've got there; you actually started with a bit of a Role without me even asking. :P However, be more specific; What do You Want This Hero to Play Like? Do you want him in the front-lines, dealing damage and stuff (~ the Demon Hunter)? Do you want him Ranged/Semi-Ranged, like a "Voodoo Warrior", some magically-empowered priest-warrior with spells based off of movement and physical-stuff (like "Tiki Jump", "Shadow Run", etc)? Does he have any secondary Thematic elements (like "wields Torches" or "controls creepy jungle animals" or "has Voodoo Doll-type abilities")?

Also, it's very important what his other skills are; just making an Ultimate willy-nilly with little/no background is a sure-fire way to LAMEness.

Thanks for your detailed answers!

My map is a sort of "footmen frenzy" (very different actually, just to point out the type of map. The heroes are well balanced just like on melee maps!).

My banshee should be a powerful but weak caster with strong and "themed" spells.

Until now I have only few (and quite bad) ideas such as:

Possession (Active): possess an enemy hero for XX seconds;
Chilling Aura (Passive): slows and damages nearby enemy units;
Cold Touch (Passive): chance to cast a nova over an attacked unit;
Ghost Walk (Active): the unit can pass through enemy units damaging them over time.
Wail (Active):: damages nearby units and has a chance to kill some of them instantly.

Other tips?

P.S. about the troll, it has the following abilities:

(Need a name) (Active): a "bouncing" ensnare (the trap bounces from unit to unit up to 4-5 targets)
Call of the Wild (Active): summons a powerful wolf companion
Double Hit (Passive): the troll has a chance to throw 2 axes (it matches the troll's attack animation) <-- this is very cool :)

For Bashee

Need a name (Active) :: Casts a spell that bounces over units, removing all positive buffs and adding some negative buffs to them. (Curse,Slow,Make them receive more damage)
Confusion (Active) :: Makes the units in small AoE unable to control and will do some actions randomly (like attacking friend or just walk randomly)
Weakening (Active) :: Decrease attack damage and armor to nearby enemies, has a chance to make them stunned.
Mind Control (Active) :: Controls over units in AoE for a short time.


My idea she should be a harassing hero not a nuker.

powerful in footmen frenzy means AoE.

Scream of pain- or fan of knives-like ability from DotA. maybe add in a short stun.

Misericordia - enemies take some part of the damage dealt to nearby friendly units.

blizzard howl of terror is VERY fitting.

requiem of souls - based off raise dead ability. summons an immovable ward-like banshee (ghost) at the corpse, which 'trashes' at its position (omg im vengeful dead lalalalala unfinished business)

Since this is just for a Footman Frenzy, then yes, most the suggested abilities above would go pretty well. Just mix-and-match based on the Theme and Role.

Ok guys, what about this combo?

Chilling Aura (Passive)
Slows nearby enemy units and deal damage based on their current hit points and how far from the Banshee they are (for example 0.5% - 900 radius, 1% - 450 radius, 1.5% 125 radius).

Wail of the Banshee (Active)
A painful scream which deals few damage but instantly kills enemy units under XX% of their life.

What do you think about it?
How would you balance those skills?
