History:
Hidden information:
29th of May
The time is near. Our soldiers prepare for war. The gods and magic of the Alliance will be with us and protect us for sure. Humans, Night Elves, Dwarves, Beasts, they all come together and rely on me. I shall not fail them!

11th of June
The Horde do not know what they have come into force with! We shall utterly destroy them and retrieve their flag at all costs. The barren land awaits us, and though we step into unfamiliar territory, we bring our best troops. War is at hand! Charge!

26th of May
Rest shall not last for long. As we gather together – fellow Orcs and Trolls, Ogres, Undead – I watch our kin and the others as their leader. I pray that the gods will aid us in battle, for time is running out. The battles are at hand!

11th of June
Those foolish invaders think they can capture us and our lands. Well they are wrong! The Horde shall stand strong and drive them out. Our home lands will guide us in battle, our strongest guards will defend us, and we will win!

As the 2 factions prepare for war, tension rises. Eager to draw blood and capture the others’ flag, they sharpen their swords and hearts. The barren desert has been home to the Horde for ages, and they will not surrender without a fierce fight. It would also serve greatly for the Alliance as new lands for them, and they shall attack relentlessly. Mercenaries around the world gather together and fight for perhaps glory, riches, and honor. It is time for you to join them!

I know it.

I released this map, because I did not want to just keep it in my PC. And I want to see your comments and my errors.

You know, these people here are really harsh. About 1% - 2% of the maps submitted here hardly has a chance of getting in. They got 1.5 page of maps in the database, gathered in 8 years.

Initial Review

Moving onto the map. I've not tested it yet, and will try later tonight.
  • The UI seems good, and with helpful messages and commands
  • You're terrain is rather boring for a map like this, but passable I suppose.
  • Having 2 normal skills on your hero is going to be an issue for me. I like to see more customization, in a map that is this oriented around the hero.
  • The items look okay, but I can't really comment on them until I've played.

Overall, I would work on the number of custom spells for each hero, and some spells that require more targeting to use.

CTF maps are all about quick speed, and good aim.

EDIT: Also, perhaps make attacking less of a damage source. From the values I see in the screen shot it would be fairly short to kill the target.

EDIT 2: Also, don't let the critism scare you. To submit and fail is better than to never submit at all.

EDIT 3: You forgot to include the players in your thread name. An admin or someone with moderator powers will be along. Thanks for reading the submission rules though.

The Final Results:
  • The heroes could have used many more custom skills, and more interesting skills.
  • The terrain was generic.
  • The map was too oriented around attacking things, especially early game.
  • There were tooltip errors, mostly formatting.
  • Creeps were overly strong early game.
  • Items were a combination of mundane, (ie: +x damage.), and cliched (% chance to block damage), still some of the "cliched" ones were nice.

Overall, I am going to disprove, but I don't have any say, so no worries.

Things that you should work on:
  • Height levels in your terrain.
  • Better, and more heavily customized heroes, even if there are less of them.
  • Try to make the game more about lightning quick reactions, and responses.
  • Perhaps bring in some custom skins to beautify the area.

There are two utterly crippling issues with this map that keep it from having my approval.
  • There was a lightning shaman hero with Chain Lightning, Forked Lightning, and Thunderclap. There was a frost wyrm hero with Frost Nova, Frost Armor, and Frost Arrows. There was a Blademaster hero with Windwalk and Mirror Image.

The heroes were incredibly uninspired in all regards. I'm not an unreasonable guy, Blizzard skills are not bad, but not in such overwhelming quantities. You just poured assorted click-shoot nukes into single heroes because you could and suddenly you have this irreparable hero that is irrevocably awful. The heroes need so much work; they need to be original on some level, they need to not be so one-dimensional, predictable, skill-less, and ultimately Blizzard.
  • There is absolutely nothing in the game to promote the capture the flag aspects of it. Ultimately, it boiled down to a hero arena, and then after we'd realized that hero kills didn't win the game (45 some odd minutes in), we utterly smashed the other team and won in a few minutes. You need to reward the main goal of the map, create an environment, give players a direction, an incentive. Look at ET, they did it great, you really want to get over to the enemy's flag and steal it.

The terrain being so overwhelmingly large played a role in the lack of direction.
Because of the above two critical issues, I have to say that this map is disapproved. I've got to say, it wasn't all that bad, it's just the above points that make it utterly inapprovable. I attached a replay of my game to show you how it ended up playing out.
