I was poking around the AbilityData.slk and found an unusual field in the Defend ability: Unit Damage. In theory, you can change the %dmg a unit DOES when defending. SO I whipped it into a 3 level spell and tried adjusting the values from "1." Well, the %dmg reduced seems to work...from 25% -> 50% -> 75% BUT the damage does not change. I tried setting the damage to 1.2, 1.4, 20, 40, etc but the unit always does normal damage. AND the UberTip reads (blah)...do 0% extra damage...(blah)...despite me using the correct field. Did Blizzard hard-code Defend to not affect unit damage despite there being a field for it? Or does the field have to be less than or equal to 1? Anyone played with this spell? Hakujin PS - to make it 3 levels you cannot create a new ability. you must edit defend directly. tried it and the "passive" nature of it screws up if its a custom ability... |

Have you tried setting this number to a fraction that is less than one? Some abilities max out at 1, and range from 0 to 1. |

Also the reason I mentioned the less than one thing, is I believe it was set to reduce the amount of damage the character defending does to others - to lessen it, specifically. A lot of the fraction based abilities range from 0 to 1, by the way. |

I was afraid that was the case...it's not too "heroic" of a skill is it? Darn! Hakujin |

No, defend ability can go over 1, i edited and had it at 2 and my hero does double damage the only damn thing that i cant seem to figure is how to make it cost man or set a time limit, its being uncooperative |
