Thor the Thundergod

Yes people, I'm back at Wc3 modding. At least for a while, I have some old projects I want to finish. I still not doing requests though.

Anyway, here's a model I've been wanting to make for ages, but never got around actually making it, Thor, the Thundergod.

Also, incase someone wonders why there aren't any wings or horns on his helmet, this is not the stupid version like the Marvel hero, this is a more accurate Thor how he should look, like any other viking, without shit on his helmet.

Made by Olof Moleman, based on the Paladin model.

Updated: Made the belt and gauntlets more accurate, made the face and hair completely freehand, changed the colour of the bear skin and fixed some UV issues.

His vest looks too much like his hair.

Actually, he made that vest from his back and chest hair. No seriously though, it's bear fur.

I still feel it looks a little too much like a paladin. Perhaps a full cloak as opposed to the scarf things?

Looks like a poor farmer with a bucket on it's head, could use some more gold on the helmet and his hammer. I personally believe he needs armor. Thor is often depicted (in pictures etc.) with having armor, or having a naked top with some old diaper at his bottom. I agree that he shouldn't look like Marvel Thor, but Thor is the god of thunder! He should look like a thunder god, not like a normal viking.

You, sir, have made my day. I've been scouring the interweb to find a Thor model, and here it is. +rep.

Thor usually was depicted having horns on his helmet though... I don't mean the Marvel one either. (I've never even seen that one).

He looks too plain to be a god. Needs more gold-lined pelts and some badass to his hammer.

Otherwise, looks cool.

Does the hammer have epic lightning particles?

And he does look like a normal viking. He needs to grow some balls. Maybe some metallic armor instead of fur and cotton clothing.

And AFAIK, the Marvel hero didn't have a helmet. He was also blond, I saw it on a game though.

Thor with a winged helmet, non-Marvel:

Though he is also spotted without a helmet:

I think that if he has a helmet, it should be more epic, but if he doesn't have a helmet, his hair should be sort of wild and intense.

Why do you think I complained about no lightning animations? No, it doesn't got particles. Or atleast not lightning ones.

It looks nice as a viking model, but that certainly does not look like any sort of god...

Because he's all balls he doesn't need any armour to protect him. And it's linen btw.

And yes, the hammer has lightning particles, which replace the default paladin holy light particles that come with the model.

Viking helmets with horns or wings are stupid and make no sense at all, period

The helmet is good, but needs more decoration. I'd make the gray lines on the helmet gold, and the hammer except for the symbol gold (or the other way around) as well. Not sure about the clothing, but the link to this picture: http://quizfarm.com/images/1126648029GodThor.gif given by Pyrogasm may work pretty well. With the red cape and all. Maybe even the symbol of Thor http://www.the9thgate.com/Thor's%20Hammer.gif, http://z.about.com/d/altreligion/1/0/c/L/2/mjolnir.jpg on the cape as well. This could transform "Bucketman" here, into Thor the thundergod.
