I have had the idea to remake the wilderness survival games. Such as, wilderness survival and troll tribes. Until now i never had a good reason to work all the way through any map. Basically i felt b/c i could not host my games, they would not be played as much as i would like them to. But i can host now so i want to finish this map and here are my changes to the wilderness survivals some of us love so much. 1st) The usual : gold = Hunger, lumber = thirst (new), Food = temperature, mana = energy (b/c it's the easiest "energy" to work with). But then again the Thirst is not "new", i saw it used once but it was done really badly! So i fixed it :) 2ed) gold, lumber, food, or mana, hitting 0 will NOT kill you! hunger & thirst hit 0 you will slowly lose health (or a fast if they are both 0). if food hits 0 you become cold, move slow, and start to lose health. 0 mana and you fall asleep where u stand (like in jungle troll tribes) 3rd) i liked the make system used in jungle troll tribes but i have another idea. Recipes hinder the amount of things you are able to make. So what if you could make an axe out of anything you wanted?? now listen i know the issues with that but hear this. an "Axe" is a blade attached to a handle. So if i labeled a "rock" as a possible blade, a "stick" as a handle, and "vine" as an attachment. then to make an axe you need "blade"+"handle"+"attachment (or binding thing or something like that)". This way i could put a "bone" as a "handle" too, ect..ect... 4th) the goal is to ESCAPE ur fate NOT kill everyone else. of course u can go right ahead and kill them for food, bones, ect... you just don't have to. 5th) Game is random every time u play, and i just dont mean "oh all the item locations are randomly generated". I mean how u have to escape, random. what you start with, random (but everyone all starts with the same random stuff to make it fair). This, with the new "make system", no two games should ever be EXACTLY the same as im sure most of the pros have noticed happens b/c you found the best combination of weapons/potions/armor to kill everyone off. So this is my idea all ready being put into action, but some input would help A LOT before the first B.Net test run. so comment away i want to hear what you have to say. |

Im not a fan of games like this, but it sounds well made and crafted, lots of good ideas here Races: I always enjoy a game with a choice of races, this could be an excellent game for this. Instead of classes, races...? |

Is it going to be out in the winter, or what? Otherwise temperature makes no sense unless it's like, in a desert. 3. Sounds great but how are you going to label every single item that is on the map? I mean are you just going to check for every single item that could be a handle? 4. Where exactly do you need to go to escape and how far would it be? If it was too short you would not need to kill other players, and too long meaning teaming up would be better no? 5. How does the new make system create it so that pros do not know the recipes? I mean as long as they know what's considered as a handle or whatever it's the same right? Overall it needs more description imo atm. |

no temperature does make sense unless its above 60. and even then u can still get hypothermia slowly over time. I'm not sure what the temperature is before you body compensates enough but its pretty high. |

Also the "label" thing was mean by i would have the tool tips say what category(s) each item is in. 3. Well that's the thing, the "how" to escape will change every time. So far i have come up with the following; "fire signal"- Create a large bon fire as a signal to search parties looking for you (easy to do but may cause a large forest fire :-D ) "River way"- Build a raft and sail down the river way.Most towns are built near rivers or other water sources your bound to find someone. (the river has a few "tricks" to it in order to escape.) "Cave run"- One of the caves in the area has a passage way out of the valley you found your self in. find it and find your exit. (other "things" live in the cave btw...) And i'm up for anything else people can think of. 4. About killing people (different number b/c i felt it was it's own point.) as noted before, YOU DON'T HAVE TO KILL ANYONE!! Of course most wilderness survival fans love to kill people so i wasn't going to take that fun out of the game. Also "teaming" up could help but then u need to find more food, build more shelters, ect. So that's all up to you. Victory comes to the first to escape, not everyone once someone dose everyone wins (or everyone escapes everyone wins) so if everyone else is dead... only u can escape.... (of course im still working on if that is the true "victory" condition) 5. Well, different items combination would create different stats for the item you are creating. (and yes this can be done b/c i already did it) And with the random spawning of items on the map, some items may never be found so you can't always create what you want and will have to use some survival "use what you got" to live. I hope this extra information has helped you and i hope you put more feedback to help me. Other things i want to add: Sickness, Special abilities, Random terrain, (it would be cool wouldn't it! but it may not be able to be done..) Special settings, (such as easy mode, team mode [team = no killing], savage mode [ only make simple items (old WST clan members would know what im talking about)] |
