Ok, so I got this idea to make a side project AoS. Basically, it changes the way players fight by adding diversity and many possible strategies and PvP dynamics. So it's a 2-lane 6v6 AoS, it's very small and generally fast paced. It requires alot of strategic knowledge and dynamic thinking and most importantly, cooperation. Why? I'll explain. What would the map have to offer? A new twist to the standard AoS gameplay with a system that changes the general/common team vs team clashes. The map highly encourages team cooperation. Here's how it works.. Whenever a player's health goes below 150, that player falls down on the ground unable to move, attack or cast spells. This is called being downed. Downed players cannot be killed by normal means, they can only be killed by a special move called an execution. Different heroes have different executions, like a Pitlord would stab the downed opponent while a Tauren Chieftain would stomp the poor victim. Executions are not ultimates, they also don't cost mana, does not hurt or affect any player that isn't downed, and have a super fast cooldown. A player also cannot be killed instantly. Like for example, I have 200 hitpoints and I receive 500 damage. Instead of dying, I would get downed with 1 hitpoint left. After 15 seconds, a downed player stands right back up if he has more than 300 hitpoints, if not he will rise up once he does so. Downed players can be brought back into battle by a teammate, this is called a revive. Reviving an ally gives him back full health. I was also thinking of allowing downed players to crawl on the ground, using every bit of last strength to get to safety. This would require custom animations though. Anyways, that is all, thanks for your time. Suggestions are welcome! |

Hmm, that is kind of interesting. It's like Left4Dead after you get incapacitated. I don't know about the crawling thing, but I guess you should see how it pans out. |

instead of crawling just have them get up and move slowly and then collapse again. give them some dignity. |

http://www.wc3campaigns.net/showthread.php?t=103659 - Unfortunate naming. Anyway, it looks interesting, but it's not a huge difference from a normal AoS. Still, I like it. |

Hmm, well the crawling might be a bit of a problem due to lack of animations. Every hero model would need to be reimported with the custom animations, I don't think the extra addition of crawling is worth increasing the map size drastically though. |

"Revive me!" This is GoW meets AoS. Alllll right! Gears of Strife / Age of War! Well, i like it, but im not sure how well this kind of thing would go with WC, think about it, you could easily be taken down to 15%, then your sitting there waiting for the time to run out, swearing at your team, or you get killed and wait for respawn. I think this should be only a feature, in a larger more inovative game, not the main feature. |

In every other map, you can also be easily taken down to 15% and die sooner or later anyways. The addition of the system allows teammates to revive each other in times of need. Plus the executions would give players that "PWNED!" feeling ;P. There'd be alot of manipulative spells to make sure everything goes balanced as it should. |

This destroys 'OMG I SURVIVEDD WITH 1 HP HAHAHAHAH!!!!!!!' You'd need the downs to be at 0 hp for it to work. It's tough to gauge 15%. |

That is extremely cool, I would definitely play that. Good luck! |

When they fall below x life, just give them -99999 life regen. |

sounds similar to FFT, although in FFT, units die if they aren't attended to after getting their ass kicked. I like the idea, getting damaged is not the way to kill your hero, if ever your team mates come to you to aid you, your ass is saved lol. |

Well the hp requirements to get downed is changeable, so I'll have to experiment with numbers. Maybe when a player's life drops below 150 then be able to get back up when he has more than 200 hp. I won't make it a percentage anymore since it scales with strength and item bonuses. |

This would be really cool if it was created but I think it's pretty annoying to be 'downed' at 150 hp. In my opinion, you should be downed when you 'die'. When you 'die', you leave a downed body, the killer gets some gold, exp, etc. but once he executes you, he gets more gold and lumber or whatever bonuses you want. At least it motivates your allies to try and help revive you to prevent enemies from getting more gold and levels. Both ways are good but it is all about your opinion :p. (I also guess I'm sorry for reviving a thread after 4 days of no activity x _ x) |

Cherry's idea is cool, so you get Y xp for downing, and Z xp for executing. Also, the idea of when u get to 0 life you are downed is much better, it would get annoying constantly having to recalculate when u will get downed if you use percents. |
